Hey guys,

There is a current GB happening in the States (on M247.com) for some brackets that will help fix sagging of the front bumper.

Here is the original thread:
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123786494-GI-Bumper-Sag-Fix

Here is the group buy thread:
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123792873-GB-Bumper-Sag-Fix

You guys should read both before asking any questions here. The best thing to do would be to sign up there and ask but I will try to help out where I can.

They are US$40 each and shipping the lot over here will be about US$10-15 and then it will be about $5 to send them from Brisbane to other parts of Australia. So all up it will be within a few dollars of $50 total for each set. Final price will be determined as soon as the GB ends.

I am looking to get around a group of 5 or so people but it can be less, or much more. I will be placing an order next Friday night, so the list will be finalised at 5pm Friday 4th March. Payment will be due one week after, Friday 11th March.

List:
- Orion Recieved
- Marcs_sp20 :p Recieved
- phunkdust Recieved
- FpR SP20 Paid
- trent188 Recieved
- Justin-SP20 Recieved

Even though I just ordered clips :(

...forgive my ignorance, but don't the headlight clips do the same job?

phunkdust
25-02-2011, 10:42 AM
Yeah but they break easily, and if you want to take your bumper off to work on something... well you'd better have some spare clips!

Not something you'd see often on the slowtege, but for the SP20 guys the front bumper is a lot heavier... and well I don't know about the other guys but I often scrape the rock guard on driveways because I am a **** driver :D

Ah, rightio :)

And once it sags it rattles like a mofo, can't imagine how bad it sounds on the guys with stiffer engine mounts.

The headlight clips are not really a "structural" component of the bumper mounting system. They really just hold the top corner of the bumper up against the headlight nicely.

These brackets provided a strength to the connection between the bumper and the fender, which is a more significant join for holding the bumper on.

I see Trent188 has already signed up for this out on his own as well.

I will contact him and see if he wants to be included in this group of if he is still happy to go out on his own.

One week guys ;)

This looks good but mine isnt that bad. Might hold off for now. I just hope once I get the lip on that it doesn't break the new set lol.

You get use to the rattles with 70 duro AWR mounts, Darryl would say the same :p

YES! I was going to attempt to make something along these lines as my bumper mounting tabs are cracked and I've obsessed over that gap ever since I acquired the car. Please count me in, I've PM'd you Orion.

Wednesday bump ;)

About 50 hours to go before I close this off

This will be sent in small padded Australia Post bags at the cheapest (i.e. slowest) rate. Let me know if you will need them faster that.

Still no word on when they will be made in the States

Cheers :)

This is wrapped up guys :)

I'm shooting off a PM to the US guy who is running this and getting some final prices.

Then I just need to figure out what the postage cost to the non-Queenslanders will be - won't be much.

Expect PM's with all the details in the next few days ;)

Cheers :D

Hey guys,

I've finally gotten in contact with n2ka over in States about the order, so that is some progress

We are currently looking at the shipping costs, and what is the best way to go.

I will keep everyone updated on how it goes. Word around is that they are about to go into production, so hopefully there will not be a long delay in getting. I should hope not because they are stopping my headlight install :p

Cheers.

Woot! :D

Shipping has been sorted out and I have sent a PayPal payment for the Bumper Sag Fix kits.

I will be PM'ing all with payment details this afternoon ;)

Basically, they will arrive in Brisbane for $45 each (pickup price). Marc and FpR SP20, I'm assuming you will collect yours at the next Coffee Meet (hint hint)

Phunkdust I will just add $5 to yours for the postage to Melbs.

Trent188, I will also be in touch with you about a small refund because you had already sent some money to n2ka.

Cheers :)

Everyone has paid up! :)

Woot! :D

EDIT:

Brackets have been made up and n2ka has collected them! :D

He will be shipping them out this week and next week. So add a couple of weeks for shipping across from the US.

I will keep everyone updated ;)

n2ka has started shipping a limited number of the brackets to some peeps in the US.

I think he wants to get some feedback on how easy they are to install and if there are any minor fitment problems before he sends the rest out.

I would say that we are probably about 3 weeks from getting ours.

Will keep you all updated.

Hmmm, delivery from the States has been pretty good of late. However, I'm not sure if they will leave them at my place or at the Post Office.

I won't guarantee next week :p

The brackets have been dropped off at post office in the States :D - but it doesn't look like they have left the country yet :(

Judging by recent deliveries, I think I will have them in my hands by the end of next week ;)

If you want to keep a track of their progress, here is a link to the tracking number:

Would those who have paid for shipping (if you are outside Queensland) please PM your address so that I have it ready. They will probably ship out on Thursday or Friday ;)

Cheers all :)

Meeting up with Marc tomorrow to hand his over so he can get stuck into some other projects on the weekend ;)

I have spoken with phunkdust, trent188 and FpR_SP20 but am still waiting to hear back from Justin_SP20. Anyone know another way to get in touch with him other than the forums?

And my thoughts on these :D

So this evening I met up with Darryl to retrieve a vital part missing that I needed to put the lip on the car - my bumper sag brackets! :D Basically one bracket sits above the guard, and the other below the bumper, connected together by nuts & bolts, you basically eliminate the sag more commonly seen on BJ 323's.

As this was a groupbuy for 6 aussie members, naturally they would be sent in a box, what I wasnt ready for, was they were already pre-packaged seperately, nk2a on Mazdas247 really blew my mind!

Anyways, being curious and all, I opened mine up straight away, and was blown away once more at the product itself, not a single flaw. Included were the 4 brackets, nuts & bolts & washers, even a Flush as %#$! sticker, cool! :D

Anyways, pics of the brackets

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm43/marcs_sp20/SP20%20pics/IMG_6997.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm43/marcs_sp20/SP20%20pics/IMG_6993.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm43/marcs_sp20/SP20%20pics/IMG_6992.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm43/marcs_sp20/SP20%20pics/IMG_6996.jpg

For $50, this has got to be the best modification for any BJ 323, even if your not into modifying ;)

So with these now here, I can get to work fitting up the lip, woot! :D

Cheers
Marc

Does anyone have contact details for Flinn (FpR_SP20)?

I haven't been able to get a hold of him and I still have his Bumper Sag Fix brackets ready for him to collect.

If anyone knows of another way to let him know that would be a big help.

Cheers :)
