Head lights ain't that hard :) it wa scary but u just gotta take the jump and take ur time. I'm gunna redo mine either next week or week after as there is dust in them and with the hids u can see some imperfections

What I did to make the grille look much better was paint the radiator support panel black. That way you won't see that yellow coming through :)

yeahh theres alot lol... photos from under the tom uglys bridge. one side i had the sun the other i had all the workmans gear/trucks from painting the bridge. only taken off my 12mp camera on my phone which is better then my normal camera! lol

got out of the car when i got home after getting petrol and saw my side indicator was gone! so i went on the hunt for it drove back to the petrol station which is only 2mins from my house. after looking at the station and all the roads i drove home i found it sitting on the side of road at the bottom of my street. i must admit and bloody lucky finding it lol

Im with Jess here, too afraid to throw plastic in the oven, which is why I went the route I did ;)

Ben the brackets are a sinch, 10 or so bolts and the front bar can be taken off in less then 5mins :p

Go get some cheap Honda Civic or something lights from the wreckers to practice on, it's one of those things you're surprised about how easy it was and wonder why you didn't do it sooner :p
Having said that, I bought a second pair of headlights before I was game to try it :)

The tint does block a bit of light, but its still pretty bright and I dont get flashed no more, so thats a plus :p

I believe Matt/RED3VIL used a cheap ebay tint, tint that doesnt go well with high temp :( whereas I went with Lamin-X I have used before on the fogs, they have lasted 18mths now and are still going strong :cool:

Try the look with cheap eBay vinyl :) I've got it on my fogs 'to see what it looks like' and it's been there for at least 6 months without a problem now :) But it's no where near as nice as the lamin-x I've got on the tails, but tyre shine keeps it shiny.

I can't even remember what shade I went with though... It doesn't block too much light, I even made it through defect stations at schoolies with it on somehow, maybe because it wasn't a commodore :p

so i got my springs installed today, dad picked it up and didnt relise till he was half way home that the abs and handbreak were on, so once again a machanic has done something to my car and broken something else :( getting f***en sick of it!

They probably left something unplugged. I remember when doing my springs the abs needs to be unplugged on all 4 corners so you can get the struts out.

Take it back and ask for a partial refund, as really the car was buggered up by them, they should fix it (even it is just re-attaching the abs sensors)

Its retarded they expect them outside, from experience, my L plates melted to the bonnet and boot, or fell off. Tape destroys the paint and those holders only work on the rear on some cars. And even with legal tint, its too dark inside.... Apparently. As you can all tell I'm still pissed at my misfortune. The good news is every officer and receptionist I've explained it to, looking for someone from his branch to contact says I should dispute it hahaha. From their own men and women.

I've been thinking about doing the sticker bombing to the frames as well and it got me wondering... Will they peel off when it gets super hot?? It gets up to 50-60 degrees in my car sometimes during summer when it's been out in the sun all day..

Not sure if there is any logic behind my reasoning but it's just a thought...

Easy done, there's a gap underneath it where you can fit a flat blade screwdriver in, push it all the way up then pull...once you get the first lot of clips off it's easy lol

was trying that forever, couldnt do it, took it to straithfields there workshop was close so they couldmt get there ''special tool'', went to mazda one guy tried for 10mins couldnt do it, went and got another guy he came out, grabbed it put his fingers behind it and pulled it out. :) so speakers are in, big differences from stocks

so the weekend i got busy on the car..
- picked up my new plates
- sticker bombed the headunit surrond and a pillars. put 2 coats of clear coat just on the headunit surrond. thinking ill do a few more on the surrond and the a pillars cause it came up quite nice
- put white parkers in
- painted the smurfy badge. i was going to put that in the spot of the 323 astina badge cause it looks crappyy back, took it off and the paint under it was ****house! so im gonna keep it on and either put it on under it or untop.

sooo i have had a great day today... :/

was turning right near sutho station and a couple metres down is a crossing the guy that went past slammed his breaks on at the crossing cause someone ran across i didnt stop and hit the corner of his rear bumper, damage on mine is the bonnet and bumper im hoping nothing else, i would of only been doing about 5km/h not even. on his just paint i dont think his bumper even dented :/

FYI I saw someone at the wreckers carry a bj Bonnet out in perfect condition for 120.+ paint which cost me $400 When I did mine (including panel beating)

for sure when we bent ours it cost about 5g but we had to replece drivers side 1/2 clip, fender, bonnet, radiator support panel, radiator, condenser, a/c compressor, front bar, front bar reo, rhs headlight, both gaurd liners, top and bottom grills, sp20 fog lamps (from rupe) plus paint and panel

must get around to a build thread one day

when i dropped the car off he said that he would contact qbe(insurance company) asap tell them that its unroadworthy to get a second quote and send them a quote so he could start on friday. i actually drove past on friday and the car hasnt been touched, he hasnt even opened the bonnet to have a look.
on friday after i saw he hadnt touched it i rang the insurance company, they rang me back today saying that they havnt heard anything from the mechanic not even telling them that the car is unroadworthy..

so much for having the car back on friday.. after how much bull**** has come out of his mouth i wouldnt be surprised if they turned around and told me it was a write off.

if all else fails check the forum for parts needed from what i can tell the main item is the bonnet, the top of the radiator support is usually easily straightened, the bonnet may need to be carefully pushed down at the crease points so that it can be opened to assess the rest though, pity I'm up in nth qld as we've been through these dramas and we had to fix ours our self as insurance labeled the gazetted signposted gravel road as off-roading

ohh id still be getting it fixed thru insurance, just wantiing to get a carbon fibre bonnet down the track. photos look like its not much damage but from what we can see the radiator and radiator support is damaged, maybe other things aswell. my dads a mechanic and we were just gonna do it ourselfs then he had a peak thru the dent in the bonnet and was like stuff that!

soo i got my car back after two and a half weeks. They did a pretty good job with it, came up nicely.
I didnt wait long to mod more, me, sp20db and hes mate changed the 30mm tein springs to kings super lows at it just wasnt low enough for me on teins. So they will be up for sale soon.

Plans are:
2 1/4 exhaust with cannon
vinyl bonnet
maybe a lip

I had a cannon and 2 large resonators and I thought it sounded like sh!t.
But some people liked the way it sounded.
So its each to their own.
Im of the theory now that NA and cannons dont go together.
Unless you have a large plug in it to restrict it.
My car is now rather quiet but has a nice note when needed and im running a 2.5" exhaust.

It is hard to find the right car that's close. I flew to Brisbane to get my Foz and drove 3.5 hrs to buy my Outback last year.

oh yeah ofcourse you would, nrma would check to see if there was an damage, wear and tear, if it has been in a crash etc then go see it yourself afterwards.. Just saves you a bit or time and money to go all that way and find out its crap, there is some sketchy sp20s for sale out there...
