Hi guys,

I've just bought my first Mazda- A Limited Edition 2000 323 Protege.
The person who had it before me couldn't drive at all so there's a few scratches but hey. I'm 18 and it's a pretty good car for a trainee.

I'm thinking of doing a few cheap and easy to do modifications to the car but not really sure what would be best. First things first is I definitely need to get the Stereo out and put in a new one. Still need to figure out how to do that though... Then I was thinking about getting a cold air filter. Other than that I have no idea what would be worth my while.

Any ideas people??

cold air filter? Are they any different to a normal filter? :P

Cold Air Intakes have a nice sound. On a SP20 header, mid pipe + good cat(stress the good part)(were most of the gains are), exhaust is a good start.

After that skies the limit.

Welcome to AGT :)

There's a lot of good info in the Audio section, if you're thinking of upgrading.

Haha Cold air intake- you know what i mean!

I was going to take some pics and everything as i've got the day off work today but sadly, it's pouring down with rain.

I'd definitely be up for a cruise sometime. It'd be great to meet some guys that could hand down some of their experience and knowledge- I've been relatively sheltered in the ways of mechanics sadly but I'm interested in learning more.

I'm surprised i got this many responses! It's good to know that people are so friendly here. A lot of these online sites people will bag out on the newbies like me who don't know jack.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll have to look into the exhaust and the air intakes :)
