ok heres a worklog for my new project that i picked up for $50 bocks due to the previous owner removing the fuel line from the pump and checking for spark( some people should never work on cars) then tried to put it out with a bucket of water with the windows down.
insert bracketed comment here again, it looks worse in the photos than it really is.
since they were taken the engine is out and sitting in the corner as i do work out what i'm gunna do with it the bad bit is it has the f series g/b but it will be turboed at some stage.
i really like this shape 323 and could not let it go to the scrap heap due to a idiot home mechanic so this is going to be a long and slow proccess but i am planning a 2 to 3 year build at the most.
let me know if the link dont work and i will photobucket them when i have a chance

ok so a update on the car after a few hours and lots of missing skin i have the engine bay stripped of pretty much everything and after removing it it really wasnt that bad.
the wireing harness from the firewall forward will need replacing, but will know more when the dash is out anyway and of course all the plastic stuff in,on and around the eninge is stuffed but i already have most of the replacement parts for that job including a wireing harness.
so here is some photos as it sits now have to wait for the public hols to be done to get a skip bin as the wife is spitting about the ever growing pile of stupidness as im calling it

wow! be perfect for a rally/car car rebuild, since most of the electrics and interior parts that you dont need are all gone.

heres some more info on were im up to the car is totaly stripped boy what a effort that was all that melted plastic was fun but it out now thankfully and the car anit that bad after all.
also went on a bit of a shopping spree at a couple of wrecking yards and now have a complete interior except for the boot area a complete wiring harness front to rear 4 complete doors a new steering rack radiator support as the original was bent and twisted rear view mirror airbag sennsor and a heap of other bits and pieces that i needed all for a grand total of $500 but i had to pull it all out myself which for the pain it was allowed me to learn how it all needs to go back together i hope and saved me a few hundred bucks aswell.
so now the fun stuff begins the body work and get it ready for paint, still not sure what colour but hey i will decide when it gets closer to paint time

I know it's not my call but I'd like to see it in M1 gold, blues and greys are sooooo common ATM. When you're looking for parts try to find an I4 type-X JDM front cut you'll get the climate control and if you're lucky ABS wiring (the rear harness has connectors for rear ABS sensors). Also consider V6 brakes, the 5-stud gives a little more choice and the front disks are bigger.

the dash i got and the wiring harness has the airbag sensor abd all the abs stuff as i had already planned on going 5 stud plus i think in one of the photos has a stack of tyres they are the 5 stud factory mags for a 5 stud v6 sedan

turbo motor is going in it.
as i want to beat or scare some of the tools in there skylines and supras that seem to think that the car with a big cannon hanging from the back is really cool.

ok a update on were i am at with the rebuild.
the whole of the drivers side is sanded and ready for paint which included filling the arial hole and bogging a few dents the i could bash out the doors are striiped and sanded aswell, the under side has been cleaned sanded and recoated, all new fuel lines have been made and fitted aswell as the rear brake line.
the biggest bargain i found was when i pulled the engine down just tocheck it out was the fact that it has got the gtx crank, rods and pistons in it just a shame it only has a standard head and inlet manifold.
hopefully with time allowing i can get the roof and passenger side sanded and prept in the next week or so and the inside finished off and she will be ready for paint.

N/A head is better, here in NZ and well the us they swear by the NA head it flows better than a turbo one
