You can get a GBB for accumulated demerit points. But you will have to be a boy scout for the next 12 months. But at least you keep some sort of licence.
Was it the gas or turbo SP20? :p

it's only $800 - that's nothing. and I'm serious. especially if it's accumulated.
back in 2000 I did the then top speed one at $1350 6points plus 6months loss automatic.
sounds like a double demerit points one like 35km.h over 5points X2 on our specials long weekend's we have.
But oh well all I can say is. Pay the fine - sit it out. Get over it. Sure it hurts but it's never the end of the world.
You play the game of breaking the law - you get caught you pay the price. But you get back on it and away you go again. At least it's not you defending a Jail term yet. That's when it becomes $7000 bill just for the solicitor and 18month good behaviour bond on top of a 12 month suspended sentence.
Not doing you on top. Just point out it could be alot worse. People who end up in court some of them have files 4 inchs thick. All driving issues. It's when your one of these people you have an issue.
Just take it easy and you will be fine.

I must confess I'm a rat! My wife took the brunt for me as car was in her name. Was speeding back from down @ Portsea. Noone on the road @ night (except the camera)......$550 ish' & 8 points (no double demerit either).......40k over. Was given a notice apparently 2 months after offense. License lost for 12 months. Couldn't fight it as it was over 3 months by the time I eventually received the fine. All went wrong.
Yeah, I learnt the hard way..........:(

Ummm, multi points loss during holiday periods does exist in Queensland
I was told that the Easter period had triple demerit points

No I actually had a argument with a mate over this during the weekend. I ended up calling dot today, and I was told the only time the points double is if you get same fine 2times in one year. Then they gave me a website with a PDF that had same info :)
This website sums the huge PDF.

Needles to say my friend was right. I was saying that there were double points lol but I'm glad I was wrong haha
My mate is a cop so i shoulda listened :p

wait , so if you get busted@ 10km over then again at 15km over, you'd be better off than getting 2 10km/hr over tickets?

I THINK (think is the key word here) that if you get caught speeding again regardless of what it is in 12 months it's double. It wouldn't make sense to if it has to be the same speed bracket
But I could be wrong
I think also, that double point rumors spread easily cus they are in effect down south, and they also favor the authority because people drive more carefully, which is the whole point of fines and demerit points, so you abide by the law and not endanger anyone.
It is however a necceaty that people break rules, because if they didn't, then police many lawyers and other professions would be non existent

Well for those outside of NSW
Double points are in effect a marketing campain.Think of it like when supercheap have 20% off specials - or Meyer Autum season sales. Or Stocktake sale. here in NSW every LONG WEEKEND or ANY TIME we get a holiday near one. WE have SPECIAL'S ON POINTs. The fine is the same but the points double. On SAME OFFENCE - some have double and tripple Amount apply - depending on when and how. Most have been removed. But some still apply.
Considering in NSW if you have full licence now you have limit of 13 demerit poitns and the highest speed related fine 45km/h over is approx $1470 last I looked - and 6 points you can do it twice but it's an automatic Court date and on the spot suspension. With minimal 6months suspension of your licence. If you use up your points doing it Minimal additional time is 3 months so you can sit out 9 months.
if your on your Provistional licence of 1st year red I think it's still 4 points and Green is 6 points. This is one fine you try your best to avoid - once you go to court it's there forever.
because you end up in court IMO - your better off out running the cops or at least trying to die in great death or something. most cases they now stop police chases but your onyl escape is to run away burn the car claim it's stolen and hope they haven't found you NOT at home yet.

yeah it was Also - a Direct - IRONIC point of view.
I guess it's not plain AMERICAN crap your use too. I should have put at the end I'm only kidding.
I still stand by it. THE ONLY WAY IN NSW TO GET AWAY WITH IT. if your stupid enough to be breaking the law by speeding EXCESSIVELY. Is to have some sort of proof you were not at the wheel.
I admit I forgot some of you are in States where a Good solicitor will get you off- currently.
Here we have in NSW closed loop holes - we have the Videos in 80% of cops cars . I know because I am linked to many people in the courts of NSW. The amount of cases now - thrown out because of people challenging on silly grounds.
We threw out one due to the Lady DID NOT want to show her face due to her Religious reasons.
On the whoel speeding subject - Someone WILL PAY for it. You can't claim now it was your wife if the picture shows YOU. the NSW RTA now keeps everyones PHOTO on file.
So I still stand by it out run the cops if you can in a 323 - I guess that's the JOKE ?
but have an alliby - I'd say Go to a Brothel- enough money about the same you would spend defending a cop chase and you might still have a licence at the end of it all. but you'd only get blown once. - Okay maybe twice if it's one of them run down dirty places.
Is that enough crap from my keyboard to keep you complaining
