I bought this 01 BJII for 5K in march from a dealer with about 3 months rego and a bit of damage, i wasnt really looking for this car in particular but i thought it was pretty cheap for what it is. so far i have done the following:

Exterior Respray
SP20 Front Bar
Replaced Rear Main Seal
Replaced Oil Sump Gasket
Installed Clear Indicators
Side Strip Deletion
Hi/Lo HID Kit
New Battery
New Wiper Blades
Purchased JDM Eyelids
Installed Autoexe Replica Grille
Plugged Hatch Badge Holes
Fog Light Deletes NEW!
K&N Panel Filter NEW!
Canon Muffler (Annoying)
RSR Ti2000 Springs NEW!
New Brake Pads NEW!
Enkei J10 17x7 Rims NEW!
Kumho KU31 205/40/17 NEW!

Before Respray..ugly stone chips covered the bonnet as well as a stupid magnetic p plate stain?

After respray its a normal 22A with some purple pearl in the clear makes it look darker when not in direct light..i like!

Nice colour I agree ;) Can that grill fit any better though. Stands out like dogs balls as it's something you can't help noticing. Full points for the TLC on the girl & no doubt the things you will do up ahead ......& when you find that money tree, let me know will ya :p

Its the best colour Mazda! :D

Also, if you don't want fog lights, go to Mazdas247.com and search the 'For Sale' section there. I know that there is a set of SP20 (aka P5) fog deletes for sale at the moment.

Cheers.

Man that doesn't look to bad at all. Try and complete the sp20 body kit than no one but sp20 nuts will tell it's not a sp20 lol.

Front end's looking good :) You can get headlight restoration kits that will help your lights out, or if you're cheap/motivated try meguiars plast-x polish, works wonders with a bit of elbow grease :)

APARENTLY: toothpaste works... its slightly abrasive and will polish it up without leaving marks... aparently, do some research but i remember someone else mentioning it before.

It works, but it leaves a really dull finish, normal paint polish will help a bit after the toothpaste but the plast-x will make it even better again :)

so i went to get plastx from autobahn but got talked out of it and instead got the invision restoration kit for an extra $18 :( but the upside is that it worked beautifully!

hey guys im getting my tax return back soon and dont know whether i should either buy some rims (Enkei J10's - $1200)http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300560519482?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 or to buy a magnaflow catback ($600ish) what are your opinions and what other rims/exhausts would you recommend?

derb
29-08-2011, 03:57 PM
Rims look nice, but you could spend less than $600 and get a decent exhaust made up by a shop.

A decent cat will set you back $400-500ish. Thats an actual muffler & hotdog, not a fartcan.

And jesus those are some cheap enkei's... the GTC's i'm looking at run $2k

Lol cheap as in no good or just plain cheap? you can get those gtc's for about $1400 delivered from the US depending on size: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/17-ENKEI-GTC01-HYPER-BLACK-RIMS-WHEELS-MINI-COOPER-FIT-/300418485379?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item45f2564c83

Hey mate,

I see you previously had damage to the bottom sill at the bottom of the rear door, how much was that to have repaired?

Hey mate,

I couldn't tell you as it was just part of the cost of having it resprayed but in all honesty it still doesn't look 100% as in direct sunlight you can still kind of see the waviness? then again i only paid a mate $1200 for everything so it just depends.

Mmmm gold!

You should sandpaper/file off the paint on the letters/numbers so that they're silver again. Makes it look better IMHO
