Hi,

Just quickly, now for a example the BA V6 Astina came with a front brace/bar, its not the prettiest thing but i know alot change with a aftermarket one, like a cusco, looks better and abit thick i think .

Now it there much difference between the two performance wise ?

Cause would it basically do the same thing between the original and aftermarket ? Cause that bar aint going now where and helping the car regardless if its a little thick ? or ?>

Because on another example the mitsubishi legnum came out with a front strut brace and there are aftermarket ones like cusco, but the original brace looks alot stronger, thicker compared to aftermarket .

Thats why i ask, just interested .

I cannot help you when it comes to original vs aftermarket.

I have a I4 astina, it came with no front strut brace. Installed a Whiteline one many moons ago. I noticed the change in the steering straight away.

18-24 months ago I installed a Cusco front strut brace. Again there was still a noticable again. You here the stories of weak points etc with Whiteline ones, but you don't really ever believe them due the the increase in sterring you feel from installing one. But when I installed the Cusco one, and felt the difference, I guess they are true.

The bolts on the end of the whiteline ones are not 100% adjustable for length. You are dictated by the direction of the bolt holes in relation to the end plates. The Cusco bar has a 100% adjustable length due to only having one bolt that the double threaded on each end to allow equal length adjustments to each side.

If I was upgrading from a V6 brace, I would only go a Jap made one. V6 is solid with no bolts joining all the parts together, so you'd want something with minimal joiners involved. Less bends and mandrel bends instead of press bends. Mandrel being stronger.
