Hi Everybody,
Well my wonderful little car keeps chomping up the money ( in the four months i have had it i have replaced the fan switch, had it broken into ($400 excess), had to do a major service including a cambelt and new shockies (going in today)

Well to cut a long story short i was going to take it to the mechanics to have new shockies put in, walked up to the car, pressed the button on my keychain remote and nothing. After walking around the car shoving the remote in all sorts of funny places and even replacing the battery, still no go. In the end the car got a ride on a tilt tray to the mechanics who is going to bypass the alarm and i get to rip it out when i get it home (stage 1 weight reduction!!)

So i am now in hte market for a new imbolizer / alarm.

First I was thinking of sticking a pit bull in the back seat but it would cause more damage to the car than it would prevent.

The next option was those side flame throwers like they have in south africa but the cat likes to sleep on the car so that is out of the question.

I also considered a ford badge on hte front (will deter any atack but would devalue my car to much) :P

So anyone got any ideas for a good affordable system for my car?

Cheers,
Nathan

if $$ is an issue maybe have a look at what autospeed have :

i dont know if big brands really make much difference when it comes to car alarms. these seem to have pretty decent features :)
