Hey Guys,
My name is Rofltorque and this is my 2001 Ford Laser SR2 worklog.
I bought it in October 2010, completely stock with 97,000km on the clock for $8500, pretty much wiped my bank account as i had only been working full time for 4 months prior, but i just had to have this car :p
It was a bit of an upgrade from a $500 Hyundai excel and as expected i was absolutely stoked.
Below photo is the first week i had it.

I'll update with photos whenever I do anything major.
Feel free to comment with any suggestions/tips/opinions

This photo convinced me that it just HAD to be lowered
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/3193/kingscliff2011076e.jpg
Looked like a 4WD next to the lowered SR Laser infront
Adjustable Koni Yellow shocks and low King springs soon fixed that.

Welcome to AGT! :)
Nice looking Laser, love the black paint, black wheel combo. Almost bought one of these before I got my sp20. What future plans do you have for it?

That was my first motorkhana actually, absolutely loved it, great club with great people, very helpful and understanding, definitely going to their next come and try day in October

Cheers!

Thanks mate, i love the black/black combo but I think this car would look great with any tasteful 17"-18" wheels, i especially like the look of the NC MX5 multispoke wheels.
As for future plans? too many to list, we'll just have to find out i suppose ;)

Hey guys, major update time, been busy with work, life, the usual stuff, I'm sure you all know what I mean.
Went for a drive down to the seaway with the girlfriend and took some photos.

If you didn't notice in the above photos, got my clear side indicators last week and bought some orange flashing LED globes for them as well, it's just cleaned up the entire side of the car, working on getting clear globes for the front and rear indicators but have hit a few roadblocks.

Yep, Autoexe carbon fibre gear knob, only got it on Thursday from Corksport and I am absolutely stoked with it, great feel, looks awesome and the quality is just amazing, I am very very happy that I spent the money and got the knob I wanted instead of something I wasn't sure about.
Also got my stereo sorted.
Alpine CDA-117E Head unit, iPod/iPhone cable in the glove box
Focal 165V30 Splits in the front (can see the tweeters in the above photos)
Stock rear speakers running off head unit (currently turned off completely)
Focal Solid 4, Bridged into the front splits, 2x200W @ 2 Ohm
Focal Solid 1, for the sub, 470W @ 2 Ohm
Focal 27V2 11" sub, custom made sealed box
1 pack of Focal Bam XL and 1 sheet of Dynamat, all shoved into the front doors
Professionally installed by Northfield Macgregor, would highly reccomend their work, knowledge and professionalism.

Very happy with my car right now but there's still (a lot) more I would like to do to my baby, time and money will tell.

Looking good, I'm curious about the carbon fibre knob, wonder if it'll get hot in the sun. My weighted metal one burns my hand if I leave the car in the sun (rarely happens), and the leather wasn't great either.

So far so good, the resin doesn't seem to hold very much heat but I wont find out until summer I suppose.

My dad got a nasty, perfectly round burn on his hand when he was moving my car last summer ha ha, he learned that the hard way
Depends what you call performance
I'm currently focused on sorting out the suspension, interior and brakes before I go looking for any more power, that's about as far as my 'plans' go for now, nothing set in stone and a million ideas in my head, the only limiting factor right now is money, I just HAD to have that sound system if you know what I mean

Thanks man, people either like it or hate it

Suspension, Engine, Brakes. Stuff that makes the car faster :)
Im not much of a show n shine type person. Dont get me wrong I like a car that looks nice, but has to be functional. *shrugs*
What sort of wheels are on your car? Really like them!

As I've posted above its got adjustable Koni yellow shocks which are fantastic and low king springs, very happy with how it rides on the highway (50km highway commute one way) and on the twisty back roads, motorkhana etc
Brakes are on the priority list, just need enough $$$ to do it right.
Gotten a quote for a custom swaybar, waiting for pay day.
Dont worry, the thoughts are in my head ;)

Generic wheels i got in a cheap wheel and tire package ha ha, if you like them i'm thinking of getting rid of them for something different, don't need the stockies, these current wheels and a new set.
Although i may just keep them as a stylish daily wheel

Thanks for the offer but I won't be buying wheels in the near future, just keeping a list for when I do later down the track!
Get a nardi steering wheel off rupe, the stock ford wheel looks horrible lol
