View Full Version : A.E's new pride and joy
So I thought I was about time I posted up my new ride. Forgive me Rupe for I have sinned, it isn't a Mazda :p lol
Its a 2001 Nissan 200sx spec S (don't let the badging fool you) always wanted one of these, I was probably 14-15 when one caught my eye.

Now don't let the pics fool you the rims actually look alright in the flesh, no side skirts aren't doing it justice.
Apart from that loving the car, wired up my head unit and amp the other night sounds awesome. And the sideways motion is a god dam good feeling ;)

I think it's just the photo but it looks like the rear right quater has been sprayed.
Nice one.
I always wanted a J-spec for two reason that stop me buying one. 1 - Rear wiper and 2 the slim line weather sheilds.
Why Aus cars always have the rear wiper deleted is absoloute BS - Cost cutting crap.
I have to say with those funny list of modes - some standard but the blue lights etc. did he not give you the tissue box and shopping list stickers as well LOL.
my only advice leave the number plates as is - looks very plain. a new 370 would still stick out more.

I kinda like the "non-skirt/wing" look for a change from the Jap bling. Always OK to be different..... Anyways, whatever your fancy ;)
Well done with a nice beasty!
Cant blame you for wanting this, they're friggen smexy!!

personally i love the bright yellow ones with black tail lights or white on black lights... pitty its borderline illegal to do so. nice work though!
So found the wheels I want, there pretty much TE37 replicas, real TE37s cost a small fortune. Now gotta play the waiting game, tax office still holding off on my return -.-

Also ordered a boost gauge off eBay, vacuum hose is all ready to go and vent has been disassembled. Can't wait to get it in.

Have a look at the price of TE37SLs - they're a fair bit cheaper than regular TE37s.
3 and a half grand lol that's way to much I'm not the pope :P
Can you source coilovers for a decent price?

SLs aren't that much....well, it depends on who you know ;)
As for coilovers, depends on what you call a decent price.

i dont like the GT spec wing.

this is my sister's car. has a vertex lang wing. not a very good picture. i dont have one close up but i prefer this wing over any wing on an S15.
also. just curious on the leather seats... if its a spec S with leather it is probably a GT spec S? unless the seats are a retrim or swapped in. and i have never seen an S15 GT with rear leather seats before?? i cant see the interior to see if its GT or not

I'll take a pic and post it up later, could be retrim but looks like a good factory job.
Shhh Rupe :p 500-1000 isn't a reasonable price for coilovers? Mates of mine have bought ksport and similar for 1000 new.

Oh i thought you meant the SLs :D:rolleyes:
Yeah that's doable, i'll send you some links.
Lol I'd laugh at me if I thought I'd get SLs for that much lol.
Thanks man

Nice !
Not doubting but is that 100% real leather ? Cause when i did my astina it was in Syn-Leather and looked 100% like that and even the styling and everything, cause i probably think its maybe syn-leather (which is still good) :)
Cause by memory the 200sx original leather is abit different as family friend and a friend, one has a spec-s-gt and the other a spec-r-gt and interior's are the same and different to yours.
Also GT wing is nice and i'd leave the middle centre in.

So it was a good night of bargain finds. First after a failed attempt to for stock sp20 wheels to the 200 (mind you they are only 0.5" off) I searched eBay for stock s15 rims, an hour later I was in Hornsby picking up 4 pretty decent rims up for $150, score!!
Then went to visit a work mate in wahronga and he happened to have a spare 1000w kenwood monoblock he gave to me for $50.
So things are coming together nicely, just gotta find time to strip the tyres off the sp20 rims and onto the s15 rims and run a few more wires for the new amp.
Also serviced the car today, with 5w30 castrol long life 3 and a genuine Nissan filter, all for $20 ;) gotta love working in the industry ;) lol
So long overdue update, car is off the road :( started out a misfire on cyl 4 to a immobiliser issue, so getting uni group to fit a nistune daughter board to my ecu, then a full tune, stay tuned kids this should be interesting lol.

looking good mate :-)
So after a roller coaster ride I have the beast back.
Got it towed to Unigroup for a nistune chip and dyno tune, they found the issue, blow fuse which was still reading 12v at both ends :/
Picked it up this afternoon and was surprised with a 200rwkw max power dyno run. Wasn't expecting that. Pics later of the dyno sheet.
