O.k now coilovers are in. I have the autoexe coilovers for my sp20 (thanks rupe) but too be honest im not really familiar with adjusting coilovers as have ad help from friends most of the time but would like to learn myself. The autoexe height adjustment collar? Is a tad differnt to other brands also.

Can some one shed some light on how to adjust height properly as I have also ear of doing it wrong (preloading springs).

Thanks heaps guys

With the Autoexe coilovers, there's only the one way of adjusting the height, as the lower strut mounts are welded in place.

All you can do is adjust the red lower collar clamp, spinning it up and down the threaded sleeve. You will be preloading the springs - but by how much really depends on how low you want to go. Some preload is good.

No problem. Most older-style coilovers are like that - it's only really in the last 5 years that mass-market coilovers have been designed to adjust at the base mount as well.

O.k so Ive tried to lower the coils...the whole left side is perfect height and didnt have to touh anything as its at the height I want but the right side istoo high. I adjusted the collar to the sqme place on all the coilovers by eye but fr soe reason the left side sits much lower then the right. I adjusted the right side right down as much as they couldand they are still higher then the left side :(

Someone help. Lol

finally figured it out. i tried lowering the coilovers in a "X" process so to speak. i did the front left then rear right the right front then rear left. worked out pretty good. now all i gotta do is roll guards properly. happy with the result a the ride is awesome.
