I've got a mate who's looking to sell a pair of 12" Soundstream Rubicon Subs in their original boxes... Had about an hour's work in their lifetime and are in great condition as far as i know. Anybody looking to set up a new system, make an offer and i'll test the water!
$2 (just kidding)

I am trying to remember where I have heard the name Soundstream before, and if it was a bad context or a good context......
*brain hurts*
Nate.... I will see your $2 and raise you $2!

I got this off the net...
12" steel blue powder coated frame, 4-ohm voice coil, fibrous pulp cone, red Kapton former, flat dust dome for greater rigidity, high emissivity coatings, Optimal sealed enclosure 0.75-1.5 cubic feet, Power handling: 250 wrms
I think he's looking for around $250 for both of them... But make an offer.
$250 for the pair? That's a bargain for some quality woofers.

nice specs Andrew
and a cheap price, unfortunately I don't have that sort of money atm.....
can't make a serious offer, but can make a clown offer and add another $2... just to keep Nate on his toes of course ;)
Just kidding

I had two of these subs! they are my fav subs. I would never buy anything but Soundstream for speakers and amps.
I would be interested but I am happy with my stock stereo for now. I am looking at getting an exact 12 hopefully or one of the new model subs they have out.

Stupid Question of the Day time...
yes here it comes....
Are these subs any good as a single unit? I have been pondering the idea of subs but think I would only do one... therefore, would anyone be interested in making a serious/decent offer with me going halves?
Of course it might not work or be possible, but that is why it is.....
*drum roll*
Stupid Question of the Day!!

Firstly, could we try and get a piccie of the units he is selling?
Secondly, have they been used?
Thirdly, can we get more info on them?
Fourthly, CRITTER??????
Fifthly, what is his bottom line on price?
Yes, Nate and I are interested in going halves in these, and you might have a buyer at the right price. So please get your mate to give us his bottom line figure asap, unless you really want us to do the haggling thing? I'd rather not, just get more info and his price.
And I would really like to get Critters feedback on this please?????? My buy will also rely on what Critter has to say (yes I know I gotta get an amp! LOL)
Cheers everyone.

These are good subs esp at that price.
Soundstream is a genuine quality brand and the Rubicon line is worth having for all but the most fastidious or SPL junkie.
They will be fine as single woofer fed by 200-400 watts. They'll handle that on music no risk. Make a STRONG box for them.
One 12inch sub will get plently loud for most purposes. And if you haven't had a sub in your car for a while, the difference is astounding once those bass frequencies come back.
Soundstream gear is quality stuff, even down to their "entry-level" line. I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you end up going through with the buy, but like Critter said, make sure you get a good strong box for it.

I am planning a trip to Sydney soon for the headers and a visit to IKEA, so I can pick up the subs then.......
It will depend on when the headers are ready, I am hoping it will be a couple of weeks?
I am moving house over the next two weekends, so in all possibility, mid March?
That solves the pick up, and we will deliver Nates sub to him in QLD in early April on the Seaworld trip....
mmmmmmm Seaworld
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Hey everyone, looks like i missed out, was looking for a good 12" to replace my over sized 15". But while we're on the topic, jus letting you all know i wanna sell an almost new amp, PIONEER GM X552, it's 100Wx2 max and this amp can be bridged for just the one sub, or will work nicely with a dual voice coil sub, if these rubicon's are dvc. not too sure. I dont have any pic's, but if anyone is interested in matching this amp up with these rubicon subs, or any other subs, i can pull the amp out of the packaging and take a photo. Send me a private messgae with any reasonable offers. I live in sydney, so pick up is available to those of you in the area! Good luck to those of you buying these soundstream subs, i'm kicking myself i didnt read this forum earlier :(

I am still waiting for Andrew to get back to us about it...
And Andrew, or anyone, are these subs dvc?
Will keep the pioneer in mind, how much are you looking for??
CRITTER?????
LOL
I am heading up to Sydney twice between now and Easter, so this could be a good thing!!
Cheers

Hey all... sorry about my slackness in replies, lifes been hectic with my first week at Uni...
OK story goes... he's looking for $120 per sub (ie $240 for both) and they are the same model as i used to have myself... He recalled that he bought them for $560 and used them for only a couple of hours before his car got smashed (and written off) and hasn't used them since. So effectively they're brand new...
Pic of front:

I'll try and find some other piccies too.
Let me know what you want to do...

OK as of today I have sent three PM's....
you can't tell me you haven't received any....
is there any way this can be checked?
Tony? Dave???
I am fairly unhappy that I have been waiting several weeks for a response here....
I was in Sydney yesterday with money too. I don't mind waiting when I have arranged something, but to have heard nothing is a bit rough.....
I will be back in Sydney on the 3rd of April with the mega crooz, so you can meet up with us then Andrew... we will be travellig through via Hume Highway, Cumberland Highway, out past Thornleigh Macca's... same as the Newcastle Cruise... so if you can arrange to meet up with us along the way at an early time on Saturday the 3rd of April... that way we can drop Nate's off to him.
Must admit I am not happy about having to drag my Sub all the way to Queensland and back again because you didn't read your PM"s......
You could have posted something sooner if you were waiting, you could see we were heading to Sydney yesterday.
Not a good way to conduct business.
Anyway, am sure that you will make the hassle worth my while...
PM sent... again!
from daKitty!
drag my Sub all the way to Queensland and back
Its ok kitty ill you can leave your sub up here if you want :D :D :D

In two more days, I will have been waiting another week since hearing from Andrew......
So, do I send more PM's?
Do I wait longer?
What should I do here?
Nate? What should we do about this? We are partners in this....
I know Andrew will give us more discount for our patience, but how long should we wait????
:(
usually i dont mind waiting but this has dragged out long enough. Give it until the end of next week, if no reply no deal

Hey Andrew,
I have been too busy to send you an email lately.... I have been in Sydney in hospital for more tests n stuff and just haven't been a well Kitty.....
We are travelling thru Sydney on Saturday 3rd April on our way to QLD.
We will be stopping at Thornleigh Macca's.
If you give me your mobile number, we will let you know when we hit Campbelltown or something like that so you can come and meet us.
This is the only time I will be able to deliver Nate's sub to him.
Talk to you soon
