Welcome :) What exactly is the 550hp turbo? Sounds quite large for your application. What's the lag like?
Anyway, sounds a mean lil' beast

I dont know exactly what the turbo is i have given all the serial numbers of the plates and front housing number to GCG turbos ages ago to ask your same question eg. GT30 but all they told me was it is a 550hp turbo, it was all part of the conversion so i didnt find out off the knob who done it lol he said it was a 440hp turbo, lag is noticable in 1st but works out well cause i dont break traction until im about to shift at 7500rpm if i take off normal not a rev stall and dump, starts getting boost about 4000rpm then comes on strong, once i hit 2nd all is good and just pulls.
Forgot to mention i had the G series box modded with 1st to 4th straight cut gear sets with dual syncro rings, 1st gear is a bit taller same with 5th, 110km is 3100rpm now, custom flywheel to suit RX7 clutch with 1tonne pressure plate and organic clutch plate
here is the dyno sheet

Nice work!
Very nice! Looks like my BPT @ 12psi chart, just a better kw figure. I love how you can keep a BPT responsive with 200+kw by just using the right turbo.

it is real good wont break traction really if you go around corners flat biscuit or rev dump off the line sure spin all through 3rd if you want too lol but i am hanging for the next tune when i save up again need a few things 1st like new TPS, microtech needs bigger map sensor and the coil conversion i am looking at doing then back to micks for a 24psi run or as far as i can go on 98ron
Damn, good thing it's a forged motor otherwise 24psi would be a pretty bad thing. Should be easy 250kw on 24psi.

That's a farkload of lag man  Great for drag but the street, well :( I dunno why peeps use these huge trubos on smaller engines? Horses for courses I spose............
Huge potential though. If you raise the boost that high you should notice a shat load of better response from around 4k rpm is my guess? From the dyno, that turbo isn't really reaching any sort of efficiency range.
If you went to a DP, you'd have a real street mean beast man ;) The turbine efficiency of the disco is incredible on these engines, but you prolly know this already being on fl.com?
P.S. remember, that high boost your considering = heat++...........

i didnt ask for this turbo it was part of the original conversion (from a shop) yes it will be perfect for the drags but on the street it isnt to bad but 100kmh comes very fast so im not to worried, just do a 2k stall and lag isnt bad then. I can still fix the lag a bit with the adjustable cam gears a bit they are set 0 deg for each so lots to play with.

you'll sort it buddy. It's just good to look @ all the variables with boost that's all.
Keep us informed won't ya?

yep if i dont like it can always change things, being a custom manifold anything is possible, as for now a max HP on pump fuel is my goal for the mods i have done then i can play later for a fast 1/4 mile or just to leave dunnydore owners wonder what the fook just happened to them, joys of modding money is the limit :) lol

Wow, agree on the lag part. If you've already got a garrett, definately look at going BB turbo. It'd be bolt-on, incredibly responsive and run cooler

i am assuming ball bearing turbo which it is, the lag doesnt worry me to much at the moment once i get all the bugs out then i may play with setups but a but of lag does save my tyres ;)
