Hi all,

Im after some advice,
My car started life as a 1.5l BA with discs up front and drums in the rear
In 2010 I swapped these out for:
Front:
2 pot calliper upgrade using Subaru Legacy callipers
Mazda 626 GD calliper hangers
Mazda 323f BA V6 front hub carriers (knuckles)
Ø 263mm, 4X100 PCD, 22mm thick EBC ultimax discs
Rear:
Rear discs from a MX3 (same as BG rear and BA V6 just with 4 studs)

2011 saw the engine upgrade to a BPD from a GTR

now im really testing the brakes, i'm finiding the pedal isn't as hard as i'd like.
Would i benefit from fitting a BA V6 master cylinder, brake booster and Proportional valve?

Also does anybody know the diameters of the 323f standard master cylinders for the 1.5 (1.8 i think is the same) and the 2.0l V6?

i've read a few things like i need to fit a 15/16" master cylinder but i need to know where this is from! :D

Many thanks

HOw big or how big did you go with fornt discs and do you have pedal pressure problems

A bigger master won't always help the stop. It may or may not caue other issues.

I've used calipers twin spot bigger then the subarus on stock GD master has no issues at all.

(added the brake diameter above) they are now Ø263mm discs
the braking system now is much more similar to the 323F V6 (size wise) so i think the master cylinder, brake booster and proportional valve off a V6 would be a good edition.

I'd imagine the GD has the same size master cylinder as the 323F V6 which is bigger than i have currently

I've swapped the V6 brakes to my 1.8 and I can't feel any difference with the brake peddle. I've also had a look at the subbie caliper and decided that the bigger 274mm disk from the V6 was going to benefit more than twin piston calipers.

so you just swapped calipers and discs?
Your master cylinder etc. is still 1.8?

hmmmm i dont know what to do! :(

I've still got the 1.8 master cylinder with a V6 brake front/rear setup. Works fine for me.

That's a 1.8 disc to V6 hubs/discs swap.

I have the same set up and works perfect for me. Thought about and looked at changing master and proportioning valve but happy with it at the moment.

master cylinder, proportioning valve, and brake booster are the same between 1.5 and 1.8

the 929 master cylinder is a known upgrade here in the states, but I don't know if it applies to RHD cars also

brake pedal feel has a lot to do with the pads used too... some pads just don't give good feedback at all... stainless steel brake hoses help of course :)

will the 2 pot calliper upgrade using Subaru Legacy callipers fit by my BH with the 10.2 Inch rotors??

this is the guide i used:
http://www.club323f.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=361086&sid=59476b1dc2d05a133ad213d73dbf7219
it doesnt mention BH unfortunately

regarding the master cylinder i have bought a master cylinder from a subaru (same place i got the calipers from... makes sense i suppose)
and it is Ø1 1/16"
the brake pedal should have a much nicer feel when i get this installed!
