"Melb to Rat" Social Day Final Arrangements
SUNDAY APRIL 18th

- Meet at Megamart carpark in Sunshine @ roughly 10.30am MELWAYS MAP 26, REF G10.. Corners of Ballarat Road [Western Highway] and McIntyre Road
- Proceed to Ballarat via Ballarat Road and onto Western Freeway [Maps obtainable from myself at initial meeting point..]
- Re-gather at Lake Wendouree on the Botanical Gardens side at the BBQ facilities, in which sausage/onion sangas will be supplied. BYO drinks.. [approx 12noon]
- After lunch engage in some light hearted competitiveness at the local indoor Go-karting track.. Approx 1.30pm

GROUP DISCOUNT DETAILS
- $2.20 Day licence required by all drivers
- $$ Are per person
- All drivers a minimum of 14 years or over :P
- Minimum number of 6 [six] drivers required for bookings.
- Depending on numbers we can run a [i]friendly competition between clubs [AGT vs. FL]

EXTENDED SPRINT - 3 votes of preference
Cost - $22
Format - 15 lap practice/qualify - 30 lap race - 12 lap final (if 2 or more groups)
Time - 30-35mins approx per group

April 9th-12th are Easter I believe and many may wish to spend this time with family or going away for a looong weekend so I'm in favour of the 18th or 25th.
Nice spot for a BBQ plenty of parking, rotundas and from memory a little kiosk beside the lake for cool drinks, even a tram so people don't feel home sick :lol: (bad flashbacks of boatrace day flooding back NOOOOOOOOOOOO)

I'd be up for some bowling or looking at the Go-Karts (hip problem prevents me from driving them)

OK.. it would seem that the majority of the votes go to the 18th April being a SUNDAY.. Over the course of this weekend I will head over to the Go-kart place and enquire about group discounts. Hopefully we can muster up some of the boys from the FordLaser forums to get some additional numbers happening.

I'm still keen as mustard to have a BBQ and a race/bowl.

ok, well since i only live 5 mins from flem race course, i might aswell suggest some possible places to meet, listed from the closest to flem race course to furthest, but on the way to ballarat.

1. (fleminton)the car park for a video and bottle which a joins to shell petrol station, opposite the race course, but pretty small.

2. (footscray)VUT carpark, couple of mins down ballarat rd, big enough and i don't think there will be much students going to uni on a sunday.

3. (west footscray)clive peters/safeway carpark, further down, big car park, but will most likely be busy.

4. (sunshine) village megaplex, a bit off ballarat rd, but has heaps of parking

I will provide melway ref later on if need be, or if u have any questions abt the spots feel free to ask.

P.S. fixed speed cameras opperate in the area, 1 just over the bridge and bend before footscray park, 2nd is a fixed speed/red light camera corner or ballarat rd and duke st.

What a fantastic turnout! Thanks to all who came.. Meeting was good, lunch was good, go karting was very very entertaining!

Congratulatios to Daniel [Rupewrecht] who won the illustrious title of Karting Champ! Not surprising since he's relatively small, thin and thus lightweight! :P I came a very close 2nd.

Thank you to the FordLaser guys... this cross club cruise thing could take off..

And finally, thanks to the bogans in their commonwhores who provided our round-a-bout entertainment. :lol: :lol: :lol:

we headed to creswick after everyone left and worked our way back to ballarat in the bush ! heaps of fun !! lots of dirt track driving !!

i was sooooo not suprised at the fact that a bunch of commondoors wanted to rip it up lol.....

btw that VL is kinda quick, actualy rather quick... there are a few of em around town.... but unfortunatly no matter how hard they try, they are still a commondoor :D :lol:
