Well like i previously said,i started with some 800grade wet/dry paper and rubbed it back with water(because it is really rough to start with),then i got some 1200 wet/dry paper and rubbed it back using plenty of water for a couple of hours till it was smooth and had a slight shine to it :O Then i cleaned it all down and hit it with an aluminum polish and rubbed it good :p
And the results speak for themselves :)[/color:post_uid0]

so, all you use is two types of sandpaper, aluminium polish and some water...
mite do it tonight on the mazda...

With the 800grade paper dont push to hard,it will stratch, once its smoother, use the 1200grade and keep using it with plenty of water :)
when ya finishing up its good to use a worn out piece of 1200grade to take out any scratches and it brings up the shine a little better cause its a lot finer :D

Good luck :p[/color:post_uid0]

Could be many things - your monitor, his camera, scanner, processing (if film based) etc.[/color:post_uid0]

No thats just how polished cast aluminium looks. Has that
slight blackness to it. If anybody has ever used autosol on
5 slot kidney mags you know what I am talking about.

Regards

Mal
p.s For those to young to know what kidney mags are they
have 5 slots in them each about 6" long and are curved giving
the holes an appearence of a kidney bean. An old car thing
but they looked great fully polished.[/color:post_uid1]

Yeah ive found [b:post_uid14]MEGUIARS GOLD CLASS[/b:post_uid14] Instant wheel cleaner to be excellent in cleaning baked on brake dust on my wheels :O

Is that the one in the purple bottle ??
I believe the purple is safe for all wheels but the one in
the clear bottle may affect chrome wheels. The purple
bottle stuff is awesome took all bar really caked on tar
with a simple apply and wash.

On the topic of Poilishing, what does everyone use to polish the exterior of their cars. I'm sick of the polishes that leave white chalky **** on the body when you've missed a bit. I was told that really good quality polish should not do this. The panel beater at the Mazda shop gave me a little sample bottle to try out but I don't know what it is?? [I have since moved away!!]

I know Meguiars is pretty good, any other recommended brands??
