View Full Version : EOI [QLD] dynamat extreme bulk

26-05-2012, 06:34 AM
Hey come to annoy you with another eoi. Looking at options for sound proofing. I have to buy a lot before it becomes worth shipping. Packs come in 72^2 feet. Cheaper than buying many small packs and easier as the squares are 1200x600 approx. Looking at ordering in the next two weeks. Please make my life easier :D also importing the heat resistant stuff for the engine bay firewall. If you're keen let me know too. Pricing is still uncertain but for a pack shipped will be around $400 or so.

26-05-2012, 10:04 AM
so how much would you need to do the front doors/parcel shelf..?

26-05-2012, 12:29 PM
Depends if you cover it or just partially do it which works quite effectively for less. Maybe a quarter of a box/$100 worth

26-05-2012, 12:53 PM
cool. I'm interested then.

26-05-2012, 04:04 PM
Can the heat resistant stuff for the firewall, also be used to line a bonnet?

Might be interested in the sound deadening too but will see what happens.

There's a few products and infact its called dynaliner for hoods! I'll get prices soon hopefully once shipping is worked out. Basically he can get any dynamat product you want. Check out their site

Short notice guys, as I need this ASAP to put this car back together before I lose the instructions! Currently looking at importing 4 boxes worth and reselling it here online, to make it cheaper. So if anyone else is keen for some in the next month let me know. Deposits always welcome once arrived with costs. :p

28-05-2012, 08:53 PM
So how much would a sheet of DynaLiner cost in the 1/4" size?

28-05-2012, 09:03 PM
keen for some sound deadining stuff. Let me know the price once you get it.

28-05-2012, 09:12 PM
Hindsight is always better... Buying this off 12volt on eBay.com so whatever those prices are. He said he can get any product if not in stock with a $50 fee to cover the hour drive to get it from the warehouse. I'm still waiting on a shipping quote... Sigh. How much did you want (sq ft or sq m) I may get a pack of that, 2 packs of dynamat and a pack of hoodliner.

28-05-2012, 09:19 PM
One pack looks like it won't quite be enough for a hood, so perhaps you might want to share a extra pack between us? Packs are about 0.8m by 1.3m.

Cost looks expensive :(

Dear cookie_monster_001,

If I ship 150lbs its over $500 but I can ship 156 lbs (1 kilo = 2.2 lbs) it costs $ 280 for 3-5 day service.

What the!

30-05-2012, 10:52 AM
156lbs = 70kg :eek:

31-05-2012, 05:32 PM
OK, some better prices.
Cost of dynamat xtreme from aus off ebay without shipping: $200 for 36ft = $400 for a mega pack equiv.

Ideal as you can buy more or less what you want cheaply. (also for resale have to match/beat that price.

buying from USA off ebay, is close enough to $300AUD for mega pack. so $100 cheaper.
shipping is $290ish.

so 4x mega to make the weight = 1200+ $300 post = $1500 = tax of 150. so $1650 if done legit.

so $1650/4 = $412. = more expensive than locally (without factoring in shipping costs), while buying more than I want/need.

however other dyna product prices are cheaper OS.

Ideas? also we are garenteed fresh stock from US, not sure how old this other guys from AUS is, or how much shipping is for 3x36ft2. will ask.

31-05-2012, 07:24 PM
why does fresh stock make any difference?

31-05-2012, 08:21 PM
stickier. put on hold until I have money. just spent it on tyres. probably won't do a bulk buy for the price sorry.

Hey Ryan keep me posted when u are buying it..

31-05-2012, 11:31 PM
Yeah keep me posted as well. Even if we could get it slow shipped cheaper, i'd be in.

19-06-2012, 06:57 PM
ok guys, Ive been doing some hunting and prowling for locally made products suitable for one of three things.

Rattles, vibrations etc.

Sound insulation (i.e. quieter car)
Heat insulation. - the second two sort of help each other out.

local searching has still failed to deliver anything of worth.

but heres a decent product for not much $$$.

it works out to be $10/m2. shipped.

to do two complete cars id buy: bulk pack of dynamat, $220, above $225, and a roll of MLV which is $200 for 5m2 off ebay...even more expensive at clark rubber!

26-07-2012, 06:17 PM
ok guys. ive got some money and I want to get this project moving. if anyone wants to go halves and save yourself a few $$ (not really that much but thought i'd put it out there) I can get 36sq ft dynamat for $225 AU or 72sq ft for 430 delivered. if you want some soon at the cheapest price I can find on the net from reputable sellers, pm me. payment within a week would be appreciated. I will order tonight.

26-07-2012, 06:39 PM
Buy too much for your car and I will steal the left overs.
I just need enough for the front doors to start off.

26-07-2012, 07:24 PM
Tempting. How much does 35sqft do?As i want to do the doors/boot/rear wheel arches of the Slowtege.

26-07-2012, 07:33 PM
depends HOW you do it. if you do it like drift thorpey then you'd probably use close to a pack (boot, doors etc)

The way that I will be doing it, i still have no idea, but 100% on the roof (for max heat), some on all panels to reduce the resonace but maybe 30-50% of the panel. covering engine side of firewall completely.

I may use the full 72sq ft but I have no idea. how about I order it and sell the leftovers accordingly? Dan, its not worth shipping it to you as you can get it off ebay cheaper than paying shipping twice unfortunately...

26-07-2012, 07:44 PM
Yea, figured that might be the case. No worries.

26-07-2012, 07:45 PM
I will order a large pack now and customs better not rape me this time!

26-07-2012, 08:12 PM
worked out to be $390 AU for two 36 ft packs and two rollers delivered. just to wait now. hopefully I can spend next weekend attacking the car :D

If anyone has questions as to how much square feet or square metres will cover I can usually give you a good idea.
Like Cookie wrote, you do not need to go as obsessive as I have in my boot to make a difference. I know installers who do a layer of Extreme over the honeycomb on doors, then a whole sheet creating another inner skin to nearly completely block out road noise through doors.
I can give retail prices on any Dynamat product you are after also, including their Roller, tape (highly handy as the cut aluminium top layer can cut/rip carpet) or anything of that nature.
Subscribing to this thread now that I've found it so I'll see when anyone replies :)

Not trying to rain on Cookies parade, but the below link is a customer of mine who regularly stock Dynamat products (Bulk Packs in particular) and offers free freight when you order over $50
