Hey guys!~

I was just wondering about tyre sizes, from what I found in the forums the standard tyre size would be 195/50/16 and that going 205/50/16 would be better.

Would getting kumho u31 215/40/16 be okay? Heard good things about these tyres (u31) and they're on sale at ozzys for $90 or so..

I'm just not sure if they'll fit/bad grip etc

I saw u31 205/50/16 at kmart but I'm a little reluctant going down there as so many complain about the service =/

I will also be needing a wheel balance/alignment cause its steering too much towards the left.. If i got all 4 tyres fitted how much would that be extra? o.o

Cheers

215 wide tyres is too wide for 6.5 inch wide rims.

195/50-16 is the stock size.. but 205/50-16 is the best, both for handling, comfort, and accurate speedometer

215 is too wide... you're going to need to stretch the tyres to make them fit!

i have 205/50-16's on 6.5" mx5 rims perfect for wearing and speedometer as Edwin said, it is also a common size for subaru, so fairly easy to obtain.

Cheers guys!~

What if the profile was 55 rather than 50?

Brand : KUMHO
Pattern : KU31
Width : 205
Profile : 55
Diameter : 16
Load/Speed Rating : 91W

I'll probably get it done this weekend =D

too much queensland allows +1 for tyre circumference so would be illegal in qld not sure about other states.

it's +15mm rolling diameter max increase. and it's pretty much the same for most states.

205/55R16 is way too big for a SP20.

the 55- variation is what I plan to use on my BA V6 rims. if it clears - 215 45 R17 was rubbing inner gaurds

it's more commonly used on Volvo S40's and other small to mid sized Luxury euros.

It will provide a softer base and a little less response in handling and feel. the 50 is the stiffer side wall and will be more direct. Not much in over change between the two.

Depends on what you plan to do really and what you want

205/55-16 is basically the same circumference as the 215/45-17
THEY WILL RUB

but on a rim with less off set and narrower.

I use to run 205-55-R16 but on 16X7 had massive clearnace. but yes 215-45-r17 I tihnk it's 20mm difference. 205-50-r16 clears easy. if was common I'd go that.

but I really wanted to Run225-45R16 but never could get a rim with enough offset at the time that would clear brake calipers. And clear my Rear steering.
