i no u probably all dont care, but im gonna tell u anyway. sunday marked the end of the nsl regular season and the minor premiership came down to the last weekends games. sydney olympic (or the olympic sharks) killed adelaide on fri nite, a crushing 3-0 victory (should have been bout 6-0, but thats another story).

that put us 1 point ahead of perth, who were playin marconi (who are the bottom team in the comp) on sun. perth only needed a draw to take the minor premiership. but low and behold, marconi won 2-0 on sunday arvo and handed olympic the premiership!!!! i found this out in the middle of the greek festivle at brighton on sun and we were dancing in the streets!!! wwwooohhhooooooo

however this isnt the end of the season, now we go into a championship season, which consists of the top 6 teams playin 10 games all up. then the top 2 teams play a grand final for the ultimate champion. (which olympic won last year, 1-0 in perth!!!)

the thing is that olympic have never been minor premiers before, and we have only won the comp twice b4 (last year and 1989). so we have the minor premiership this year and if we can then back up by winning the g/f (back to back) then it will make this the ultimate year, and the greatest thing i've ever seen!!!! u dont no how long i've been waitin 4 this to happen!!!

[color=#000000:post_uid0]yeah sandy i suppose u could say that, but it really wouldnt b true. soccer in oz is tiny. ppl dont give it the credit it deserves. they say "why should i go 2 a game, when i can just watch the premier league on tv"

im heavily into the soccer down here, and theres the other hard core fans, but other than that we (and most other teams) get between 3000 to 6000 a game. chicken feed!!

one more great thing i 4got: since we got minor premiers it's more than likely that the final will b in syd (instead of perth like last year) and that means that i can save the 500 smakers on the air fare!!!! more for the party afterwards!!!![/color:post_uid0]

[color=#000000:post_uid0]i got bad news, olympic lost 2 adelaide in adelaide 1-0 in their first game of the championship season on fri nite. this is after beating them last week 3-0 at home. bloody inconsistant bastards!!!

and brad mate i'll be at all the home games of olympic at shark park (or toyota park or whatever they call it) and i'll b at the games played in parra and north syd (ie anything in sydney and if available i'll b at the newcastle game aswell). the next home game is on sun the 30th at 6pm at shark park against northen spirit as i remember. i dont expect the crowds to be 2 big, but this game will have a pretty good atmosphere cause there is a good cross town rivalry goin on.

and goooo fulham. im 4 anyone who can beat man u.

[color=#000000:post_uid0]usually its our rock at the back, ante juric. but he's been injured 4 the last couple of games so for the moment the leadership postion has been passed on to ante milicic, the stricker who hit the winning (and only) goal in the grand final last year.

and lantisNZ u dont hav to put the kings down. i hate havin 2 travel to NZ cause we always seem 2 fuk up against the kings. they got the trans tasman advantage on us!!!![/color:post_uid0]

[color=#000000:post_uid0]yeah ironic eh. thing is that there are hardly any greeks playin at olympic. they pretty much go out of their way to get rid of the greek players.

the really funny thing is that milicic is the biggest croat that ever played (he even played in croatia) and every1 thort he would be a united boy 4 life, but i think they decided to sell him off to keep the club afloat.

and this has to b the fisrt year for ages that one of the croat teams havent been thru. no melb teams at all this year. 4 syd, 1 adel, 1 perth. weird mix. and the thing is that most of the teams are the newer ones, olympic is pretty much the only one of the traditional teams that got thru.[/color:post_uid0]
