View Full Version : Help me find some new rims!

22-03-2004, 10:18 AM
Anyone have any suggestions on brands/models with the following specs:-

5-spoke design
offset - 45mm-48mm (are there actually any 17" wheels around with offsets this high?)
5 lug pattern (5x114.3)
no chrome

I was looking at the ROH Furys which is pretty much what I was after, except their offset is 40mm which I'm fairly sure will rub the rear guards. I know I can get the rear guards rolled, but I would prefer not to have to do this. Am planning on running 215/40 tyres.

Also, any suggestions on good places to go to in Sydney with a good range and good service?

ROH? pics!!! they are the gunmetal things you see on the ads arn't they?

Yes, assuming that you're thinking of the same add as myself.. I was considering the ROH Fury for my car too..

I'd be advising to run a 205/40 series tyre for the 7" wide rim.. I will also reduce the risk of rubbing.

Yup, that's them - in the shadow chrome finish, which is not quite as dark as gun metal.

And yeah, would definitely have to go for 205/40s with that offset.

if we have an idea of your budget we might be able to find a more accurate match!

They probably would look good on yellow James, except my car is blue.

Budget is $1500-2000 including tyres.

yeah i did remember that... don't you have those sweet white wheels??

mmm white wheels on white car... crappy 4 stud pattern......

ok we'll see what we can find.... i'm presuming your wanting something different.... coz theres some nice lenso wheels that a few members have....

ET45 wont be as common in a 5 stud as your ET40's but we can only look!!

Almost got the right car now James... mine's actually the blue one with stockies and an electric sunroof.

Just out of curiosity, how much are the those volks and racing harts twilight?

Those Lensos that Critter and Sabrelli have are very nice, but yeah, definitely want something different. Thanks for all the help guys!!

gah! shot again!! i'm thinking of andrewSP.... advan 5's are noice similar to mine, but 5 spokes i'll check the offsets

the racing hart's (17x7) are $417.39usd ea on www.adventon.com (cheapest place i've found) + shipping from the us

volks (17x7.5) are $452usd ea

they are not cheap, but that's the price you pay for the lightest wheels available

www.chasers.com.au are closing down ( i think there pretty dodgy tho)

they sell all those leightweight jap ones however i think they all manage to lack a bit of style in the process

Zed mate.

Ur gonna have hella fun find rims u like with the right offsets.
Most of the ones i was after has wrong offsets so choice was limited for me.
if u find some u like which come with +42 offset, u can get them with 205/40 tyres.

Apart from www.ozzytyres.com.au and www.bigotyres.com.au
Try aussies best. www.tyres.com.au
