Hey guys, KYB lists two versions of shocks for a 2003 BJII-J48 Astina hatch on their catalogue:

http://www.kyb.com.au/shock-absorbers-part-finder?PageMode=Year&Make=MAZDA&Model=323

Down the bottom:

BJ, Astina, 1.6L, 1.8L & 2.0L Hatchback (Note: Front Sway-Bar mount is 34mm from the base of the spring seat)

and

BJ, Astina, 1.6L, 1.8L & 2.0L Hatchback (Note: Front Sway-Bar mount is 104mm from the base of the spring seat)

Is there any particular way of finding out which one I need other than getting under the car and measuring?

Thanks much.

BJI has the short links, BJII has the long ones.

Thanks Rupe, so the 104mm ones?

you want the 34mm ones. As its measured "from the base of the spring seat"

34mm would put the tab just below the spring seat.
Where as 104mm would put the tab close to the bottom of the shock absorber.

Just ordered standard KYB replacements.

340,000km on the original shocks, they'd be well rooted.

Hopefully she rides a bit more comfortably now.

How much did you get them for? I think mine needs to be replaced soon!

$605 including shipping for the full set front and rears.

Only standards though to match OEM springs.
