Hey guys,
I'm glad to say I'm the proud new owner of a Mazda 323 (2002 BJ) which I bought off buy learner driver instructor for $2500
but this car does come with a bad side it has 316000km's on it but YOLO!! Haha but after doing some online research I found this
website and felt the need to register so I can let my pimping begin !! Hehe.
I figured i would do a work log for my car to show you all my progress.

Welcome to AGT :) FS-ZE is a good upgrade i would IMO get FS-ZE ECU as well but you don't need too.

If you ever need help with the cold air intake, let me know. I had to end up custom making my SRI (short ram intake) as there aren't many options out there, except for the dearer-priced ones. The same principals apply for the cold air intake though, so if there's anything you need to know or you're unsure of, just ask :)

Dam i had 1.8 rear hubs and control arms and rotors you could of had but chucked them becuase they were taking up space :( ohwell if you were going to go down that path i'd suggest going the 5 stud hubs will be much better with a much larger range of wheels to choose from:)

The 1.6L has drum brakes; I didn't do the 5 stud conversion because you need to convert the drums to discs first, and theres a whole heap of work involving that, plus it can get quite exxy. Same applies to the BJII too.

just grab the drum brake assemblies off a GF 626... it all fits because the BJ borrowed brake parts from the GF ;)

be better black not gold once i have a black bonnet and spoiler.

Just spent $148 at autobarn and Jaycar this morning on blue LED lights and little bits and bobs like wire, switches and a voltes meter. this car is going to glow !! Pretty much every light will be going blue >.< hehe

Nah... Just the temp needles are extremely delicate. They have a tendancy to snap the shaft.
Andys one however... Broke during the cluster removal... From the tiniest little bump :p

Looked like it was already broken and just sitting in place.

But I still feel bad for breaking it :(

I have a coolant hose adaptor for a temp gauge sensor that I don't need. Lol.
So could just put an aftermarket gauge mounted into the cluster?

Hey these look cool, I've got a clarion double din head unit that's lit up in blue, I would like to do as you've done..., how did you change these to blue?

I had to take the radio out and then behind the aircon controls there will be little black things you can turn and the light will be in that :) and the speedo will have two screws above the Km's on the black trimming.

Yeah they all take the same size LEDs :) but no I got them from autobarn $10 for a 5 pack!

Sweet keep us updated, keen to see how this turns out. Heard wrapping large areas like the bonnet are pretty tough so best of luck you don't get bubbles/creases.

Only got up to doing the bonnet today but very happy with the result, no bubbles or creases but TBH was a very hard thing to do !! Not looking forwards to that curved spoiler i can see the trouble of it already :S haha

My 2002 model mazda didn't even come with a glovebox light and that kind of got to me,
because my mums 2000 MPV mazda does but yet none in mine so went to Jaycar after school today
and then played around with the silly thing untill i finished an hour ago but is all worth the time i believe. :)

Umm whoops ? today was just one of the days that i wish never happened, i reversed into and tree and F@#ked
up the side of my car plus wrote off one of my new rims. i dont think i want to go throw insurance because my
excess is $2500 just as much as what i payed for the car so i think i will be fixing it my self. so wish me luck lol :/

oh well if you pull your grove box out there will be a harness for the light taped up that i found so just put a switch on it and away you go.

Hey man that's just bad luck buddy, it doesn't take much just a small lapse in focus. Same thing happened to me last week only I hit a yellow street bollard with a huge sounding bang! I freaked cause I hadn't seen it and it scared the s@#t out of me... When I got out to look at the right rear quarter panel expecting the worst I see the bollard has come out of the ground and when I looked at my car I thought my eyes where playing tricks on me as there was no dings cripples or dents of any what so ever. Only yellow paint strips from the bollard. I went home and cleaned and polished off the paint marks. Very lucky in the end.

Hope your car is fixable.

once it's fixed you just need another pair for a full set of 5, hit up the wreckers should be some kicking around.

Hey bud, So i havnt yet commented/introduced myself.

Your car looks great man, i have found from my short experience that everyone from AGT helps you out with all your problems and can give you some great ideas!
The mods so far to the car look great man, and those rims for $1 i think that must be the best deal i have ever heard! Im sorry to hear about your accident, but i had one myself and have learnt so much from it. I guess these early stages are full of lessons, but as long as you can get the car back on the road you'll know for next time.
Im not sure if you'll be attending MegaMeet now, but if you are im planning to be there :)

In response to the strutbar, looks great man and im sure it'll make a huge difference! All i would say though (yes a little late but oh well), you can actually get strutbars from Corksport in the USA for $89. Yes you do need to pay postage, but i believe if you buy both Front and Rear ($178) then its like $40-ish for postage (i could be wrong though). So for a total of $220, you could have a brand new F&R set which ive heard different opinions, but some believe Corksport are made of the same quality as Mazdaspeed and Cusco, so quite strong.

Good luck with the repairs anyways, im sure ill see you around soon :)

I end up starting on Friday arvo after school and got it up too that last photo on the Sunday around 5pm but I must say it was alot of hard work and I started to get really annoyed by the end of it. I've still got to pay to get it sprayed throw but might sand it back once more and just fix up little imperfections :)

Not everyone's cup of tea, but you could go the cheap DIY route go to autobahn get paint mixed for like $35 and spray it yourself, pending on what your after thoh bud :)

Not everyone's cup of tea, but you could go the cheap DIY route go to autobahn get paint mixed for like $35 and spray it yourself, pending on what your after thoh bud :)

Yeah I was thinking about doing that but I think I would want a good final product for all my hard work :)

Colour is pretty closely matched, but hey, $35 if it works and your happy awesome! If not then yeah sprayed properly $$$ not so happy but good finish

Just the fact my front bar has so many stone chips, some doors have minor dints and the front left still has a slight ding from the crash haha. All good though, they are only noticeable when you look out for them. Just annoying once you know they're their you constantly see them haha.
One day when i start earning some decent money i might invest in making it perfect again :)

Pending on what finish you want bud, if you want it to be perfect by all means go for it, personally I'd just spray it

Im so jelly! I need to get my front passenger door 5x7 replaced (claim warranty) as its distorting as f*ck, yes i have reconnected to the other perfectly working side so i know its the speaker not wiring.
Then just tonight ive realised my sub is starting to distort :( Not too sure about this one, it could be a range of things from RCA cables, to loose wiring but hopefully not the actual sub. We shall see over the next week or so though.

What are you running again? 1000W Monoblock for sub, 4channel for door speakers?

Yeah i hope so too but they work off the interior light so they only come on once you unlock the car or open a door :)
