My license plate at the front of the car blocks some of my intercooler. Is there any one out there that can remake my plate but in a smaller size. Before everyone starts telling me to go to the RTA let me explain. I have the yellow plates so that they match the colour of the car. The smaller plates are only available in the white or those new colour plates. So I want to have my yellow plates made up like those smaller premium white plates.

Do you know any one that does anything like this?

i'd say legally they have to be made by the RTA

but there are companies that make plates pretty much the same - novelty plates - that as the official ones. but usually without the small state letter down the side

all depends if you get picked up by the cops!

MrPayner had some novelty plates made at Melb motor show, check there. If you must tell 'em it's for a small trailer etc....

i dont know what the regulations are but a lot of cars up here that have after market front bars etc have reflective letters / numbers on front of the bar instead of plates. I did here once that cars dont have to carry a front number plate in qld but i am unsure of this

Nate

PS does anyone know where i can get a copy of the state regs regarding cars (wots legal and wots not)?????

The way i want to have the plates made up is exactly the same as the white premium plates (the small plates with NSW down the side) but in yellow.

In regards to the state regs, check your states RTA website.

I could do that, but the laws have changed recently in NSW where you have to pay a yearly fee, even though they are not custom plates. Does anyone know how much that yearly fee is.

I was hoping that i could get someone to make up 1 plate for the front.

man thats bugger. In QLD its and upfront fee - two numbers + three letters is $375 and 6 letters is 1500 i think. No annual fee!!

I've seen Ferrari's and similar "exotic" cars that have number plate "stickers" that are stuck to the front bar.. Don't know how or where to get them though. And it certainly gives the car a cleaner look at the front.

BTW. those novalty plates are only available in one size. That is the size that I got mine in.

dont want to be the one to spiol ur great idea but is illegal in nsw to tamper with a plate , i.e -modify , paint ect , so the answer to wat u want yes it can be made but no its not legal and it is only time till u get caught which means removing the plate possible defect an also fine for tampering with state property

rod is right... dont f*ck with your plates.... specially you twilight... cause im telling you all the engineers certificates wont help if they spot it...

$400 a year is carp though... the $400 is for personal "ised" plates (IAMSEXC etc) not just personal plates... the personals are about $75 a year if i remember my last rego payment...

i personally reckon the little black ones look better on any car... but hey we all have an opinion...
