Hi guys, just saw some pics of the next generation of the Mazda Astina. *Not sure if it's the real deal tho.

Looks kinda like an evoluation of today's astina, but with a bit of Alfa 147 / Pugeot 307 influence. *

Was wishing it'll look more like the BA model astinas (94-98).[/color:post_uid1]

Exactly what I thought. Alfa 147. Not too sure about the windows behind the rear door though.... Look a bit odd. Would be cool if it had funky hidden rear door handles like the 147 though. :)[/color:post_uid0]

i think i like it! ???

very alfa-ish as said, but that Mazda2 was like that too...

Um.......right!

The back end ain't too bad, I like the lights.

I agree with Dan that the grill is too large at the front.

When you look at it, it looks like it has been photoshoped from a 6. The middle is the same, the lip at the bottom of the front bar is the same and it has both sets of wheels from the 6. Interesting. I hope it looks more like the 323 we have. Pretty pretty please.....

Ack. I hate it.

The 94-98 Astinas are still my favourite body shape, followed by the 89-93's.[/color:post_uid0]

I do like it. Although, I agree, the 94-98 shape (esp hardtop) is better. When we were buying ours, whenever I drove by the Mazda dealer, I'd slow down and drool.......[/color:post_uid0]

but anyway, it is photoshopped, so it's more than likely the finished car will be slightly different...[/color:post_uid0]

look exactly the same as the porsche cayane..... same... just without the 330kw twin turbocharged engine...mmm.
looks good though.. the front is photoshopped ....
i wouldn't upgrade my car for it, unless they offered 4wd turbo..hehe.[/color:post_uid0]

Blergh. I hate "European Styling" to death. At first I thought that the Astina was trying to turn into a wagony thing. Now it's doing this European Styling. First the Pulsar, then the Corolla.. now the Astina is a victim. Sigh.[/color:post_uid0]

Well, on the Mazda6Forums there is also a thread on the Mazda3. Here is a pic of the sedan, and then my modified version

Notible changes are

- Headlights lowered a bit
- Deeper front bumper bar
- Whole car lowered a little bit
- Problem is it looks more like a 6 now!!
- This has been my best photoshop work yet!! *:D

hah that whole car is photoshopped!

that pic is based on one taken when the Mazda6 was launched in Europe months ago.

if you look at the pic below, you'll see that the numberplate is a few numbers on in the series compared to the Mazda3 one above -and that's just too much of a coincidence. I know i've got the original of that pic somewhere...

I know that it's been photoshoped!!! :D

It's very similar in appearence to the first pics shown, only this one has been photoshoped better [ie the front gill ain't too large, the badge in the front grill is lined up properly, and there isn't a huge bulge on the far side of the car where the headlight is.]

It was fun modifying that..
