Not the best power in the world, but its a bloody reliable one.

They go on for years especially the carb one, no electric gizmos to go wrong.

How much hp difference between the sohc and the dohc 1.8?

one have the 1.8 dohc here.


whatever the engine, its still a mazda and that means reliable!

we got the sohc from 92 onwards....ie when they started getting cats across the range. think they put them in the glx and SE executive. still a 16valve just the single cam though. dohc spreads the power and torque better throughout the revs. i think!! :wink:
