Finally got sick of skating around on my ****ty old tyres, got me some new tyres.

Bridgestone Potenza G III, and because I'm still on the 14" rims it only ended up costing $110 a tyre :D
Only problem being the 60 series tyres don't have rimguard feature (oh well don't really have flash rims that need guarding).

And just in time for the worst winter weather.

Once more I end up spending more money on my car, and I still haven't done up the exhaust

Only got them this morning, so I haven't been able to test how good they are. Should I have got different tyres? Who cares, I'm no longer Bambi on ice anymore, and thats the main thing.

Think this might help

Wheels Magazine Tyre Test - March 2004 Results

BR Goodrich G-Force Sport Top/Best
Yokohama A539
Michelin MXV8
Kumho KH111
BRIDGESTONE Potenza G111
Goodyear Eagle NCT5
Firestone TZ100
Dunlop LM702 Bottom/Worst

FORD Focus 205/50 R16 (Ultra High Performance)

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3
Michelin Pilot Preceda
Yokohama V102
Pirelli P Zero Nero
Dunlop Direzza DZ101
Firstone FH700
BF Goodrich G-Force Sport
Bridgestone Potenza G111
Kumho K11

These are just the magazine opinions, someother people maythink otherwise.

Personally I think some of the top tyres are overated, I felt the equivalent Pirelli tyre was better than the Yokohama A539.

Right now i've got the Michelin Pilot Preceda, they cost me $170 each for 195/50 R15.

And the other good thing, is they are so quiet. Get up to 100 and I don't need to turn up my stereo. :)

Now I have noticed I've got some annoying rattles that need to be muffled.

Heh.. I discovered a great image on the web of the Pirelli PZero Nero tyre tread.. Click onto The Tire Rack's Pirelli PZero Nero (http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires/pirelli/pi_p_zero_nero_1000.jpg) page and check this out.. Funky!

Yeah I also just bought a set of Bridgestone Potenza GIII's for my 97 Astina. I've still got 14 inchers as well, 195/60R14.

I'm really happy with them so far, similar grip to my last set which were Bridgestone G'Grid, but a fair bit quieter. Don't know about wet grip yet, cause it never rains in Sydney anymore!

I paid $120, so you got a good deal at $110.... most places I priced wanted about $135.

Yokohama A539? I was looking at those as well, apparently they are pretty good in terms of grip. I just didnt end up getting them cause I wasnt a fan of the criss-cross tread pattern.
