View Full Version : Group Behaviour

I would like to ask you, the members of this community, about what is considered appropriate behaviour when cruising with a group.....

Considering if you have an AstinaGT.com sticker on your car, you are representing this website.

Any repercussions of bad behaviour will reflect on this site and on it's owner, Tony.

Incidents such as slowing the interstate highway to 60kmph could cause people to think it is a reflection of this forum and Tony.

Whether you get cut off or not, mistakes happen everyday... we all make mistakes ourselves and I know I have been guilty of trying to change lanes when I thought the coast was clear, only to get beeped.....

As it is, we all like to enjoy ourselves when we cruise, but I like to think we don't affect others around us..... taking pictures or going 10-20k's above the limit on empty roads doesn't impinge on anyone else.....

Personally, I am a bit shocked that anyone would participate in this kind of behaviour.... I guess I feel that although we all like to have fun, and by all means I join in with everyone else, I also feel that we are all responsible adults.....

Fun is one thing, but behaviour that can cause trouble for other peeps isn't cool......

Anyway, this incident is over with, but it is just something to reflect upon before the next meetup....

Sorry to be a bore......

can someone make this a sticky??

KittyKatSmack

I don't think it is needed as a sticky Nate....

This is just me expressing my opinion.

People don't need to be reading it all the time, LOL!!!

I am happy to give it anytime, just ask..... in fact most times you don't even need to ask, I'll give it anyway....

I was just curious to see what others thought.....

We were drivin down the Federal Highway
2 Lane Road.

This Blue Astra was cutting in and out of people. And it wasnt just one incident or accidental lane change. This fool drove like a nob and couldve easily caused a nasty accident. On one instance he cut in front of Nate causing him to swerve onto the shoulder of the road. And this wasn’t just a case of failing to check blindspot, both cars were alongside each other. I was absolutely shocked when I saw this!!!!!

A few moments later on, a group of us just happened to be surrounding him and ended up boxing him in which agitated him to the point he was trying anything to get past us.

in reflection it probably was a bit foolhardy... but as sabrelli has pointed out, his aintics were in no way an accident.... was a heat of the moment thing... and really shouldn't have happened, so to guy in astra i apologise, but i hope you will improve your driving all the same

Their will always be bizaro idiots, all you can do is not be close to them when they have an accident or call the attention of Mr Plod. If their speeding let them past.
I drove from Kalkallo to Wodonga with the cruise set to a constant speed, one clown decided that he didn't want me to pass so sped up when I tried to pass and matched my speed even when I accelerated, he eventualy fained a petrol stop and I was happily on my way.

Not trying to be a party pooper, but another of my 2 cents would be if we're on a cruise in suburbia (other non-cruise cars around), would some ppl stick as close to the speed limit as possible? Like i don't mind doing 70km in 60 zones, but hitting 77/80 kinda starts to get to me ie. i slow down and get lost from the pack, esp. on long wkends as it is always double demerits.

I got lost from all of you guys on Sun and no one waited up for us - which i thort was a tad strange. It was only due to having Simone (i think?) and somone else in front of me who was from the ACT, did i actually have someone to follow. Both Dunc's and my CB were totally out of range and yeah i had a mobile phone, but i lost the spirit of the cruise as i was more concerned with where we were heading rather than enjoying the fun of taking photos of everyone and being in a convoy! 8)

It's kinda the worry that u don't want to get a speeding ticket or take a corner too fast & have an accident. Then again Dunc (or was it Nate?) did mention that if ppl in front of me were speeding it would be more than likely THEY'D be the ones who would get caught 1st! Gotta love that way of thinking!!! hehehe

But still.....i did have lotsa fun! :D Kitty did mention maybe the last person on the line needs to be a brightly coloured car who sticks out, so when the leader of the convoy looks bak, they know when they see that colour (eg. sabrelli - yellow, sp: king - blue, simone - red, etc) that everyone is accounted for.

maybe u should all drive around with great big flags on ur aerials :D

i agree, losing the group on cruises does suck.

well put kitty an guys we must remember who is with us an not forget them , if you need to go silly do it on ur own , in a group just attracts the wrong attetion an i dont want my car remembered as one off thous idiots on the hwy not meaning anyone in paticuler but that is what people will think , as you no that incident didnt just affect the guy in the astra an our club, but every other car that was there on that rd , an you no they wont remember a standard astra but they focus on the dun up cars which is all off us in 1 way or another ,

i suggest if this happens again we just back off a little an let the fool go , if he plays we take the rego an put in a report
