Car Alarm

I have had my alarm for a few years now (dunno the brand and model). But recently i have encountered a problem. The siren does not got off anymore. (for example, when i open the doors with the alarm on, it does not go off) The alarm still chirps when i unlock and lock the car. What could be wrong?

Something to check would be the battery in the siren but if you don't know the brand etc... and you still want an alarm it may be time to put in a new one.

try checking the switch on the door pillar. it might not be earthing when you open the door. does the interior light work? some alarms work by sensing the current drain on the battery when the interior light comes on.
