hi guys,
fitted a new c/l interface to my alarm for remote c/l.....
also fitted a driver`s door locking motor as there ain`t one on these babies, just a switch in the driver`s lock for popping the relay which opens the other 3 locks.
what i can`t figure out is:
do i wire the interface to the new motor which will activate the switch, or
should i wire the interface to the switch which activates all 4 motors?
i`m also presuming that the c/l on the bg is positive (+) switching.....
am i right or wrong? :?
(i`m usually wrong!!!!) :(
cheers folks

I paid and got mine done, wasnt too expensive! The guy came to my house to do it.
I saw him putting an extra motor in, but im not sure about the wiring.

i`ve wired it up but now it only opens the doors, it won`t lock them!!!
i got a feeling the micro switch in the driver`s door is goosed!!
keep you posted......
dr. silver - yes he would have put another motor in.....thats why i wanna do it myself, so that i know how its wired up!!!
i don`t trust many people with my car......

that`s cool :D
good luck!
hey remember a while ago, i was having some problems with the remote, sometimes working and sometimes not. well, it turned out to be the locking arm that connected the motor to the lock. When you install yours, make sure you dont bend it too much and position the motor well. The guy who did it, made a complicated route to the lock and it screwed up sometimes because the motor couldnt push the lock up.When I changed the arm, I bent the arm at only one place, and its pretty straight until it attaches to the lock. Havent had a problem yet!

ok it needs a resister to lock the doors, so you will need to get a 1500ohm resister, and a diode to wire it up

tried it again tonight.........
wired it up as per instructions and it seems to be trying to operate (in both directions) but it doesn`t seem to have enough "juice" to push the motor up!
when i press the remote the motor make a noise, like they were opening, but the buttons don`t go down.
thoughts anyone?
ahb11m - whats a resistor and diode? and where would i wire them to?
i thought an interface does the job if i wire it to the switch...... :?
i feel it needs an adjustment or something. i probably know the bloody wiring diagrams like the back of my hand now..... :(

geetee, sounds like you have a problem with the motor rods, they might be pushing at a funny angle thus making it impossible for the litte motor to push up or down
as to the resistor and diode?? if you don't know i can't think how to help you
you have central locking standard? if so there is a trigger wire... this is a negative only input, and as such needs a 1500ohm resister to tell it to do the opposite

yip, i think motor rods too.....but no amount of fiddling and adjusting seems to be working
tried again tonight and i`ve definately wired everything up correctly but same again.....arm alarm-motors make all the right noises-buttons move slightly-but don`t go down.
bugger.......job abandoned......back to using my key!!!!!! :(
thanks for the help guys

noooo
try disconnecting the arm, i bet ya it works then....

nope...but i know why!
these cars have a microswitch on the driver`s door lock and a 2 wire motor in the other 3 doors.
when you open the door with the key it kicks the switch which then pops the other 3 locks via the relay.
with the remote c/l you put a motor in the drivers door and wire the interface to the switch wires on the relay.
hit the remote, it sends from the relay to the driver door motor, which opens AND operates the switch which lets the other 3 doors open.
so basically i need to be able to pop the driver`s motor before any other doors will open!!! :?
confused? yip........me too!!!
