my car won't start!!!

my car is just all over stuffed - like whats new huh????

it won't start, it went bang, thoguht it might be the leads so i disconnected the coils and it won't start or make a different noise....


checked all my fuses and everything is in order there, so does anyone have any ideas which will stop me from having to start again on getting it towed etc???

yeah i didn't like it.... there was a spanner on the manifold cover i later found out

how did a spanner get on top of the manny cover?
could it be you maybe left it on the crankshaft bolt when working on the car and when you tried to start it, it flew off, hence the bang.
i done this once on my old rwd 323 and it fused the main link.
are the electrics ok?
if only your headlights work then it must be a main fuse thing or something...

There was a recall on the 1.6 bji motor coils, they stuffed up. It probably just backfired (the bang sound)Thus replacing the coils and plugs fixed the problem and will never return because the coils are superceded.

there was in the states only not here - sucked coz i tried that already!!! the 1.6 has the same coil pack as the 2.0
BUT the 1.8 had coils recalled here...

anywho i had the old coils lying round from when i replaced them before
original owner had the coils replaced too, so when i did em it was the 3rd set, and i now have the 2nd coil set in place
