I rang TEMPE TYRES today to get a quote on the AME PRYDERS in 18x7.5inch with faulkin 18/215/35 series tires and they quoted me $1800 drive in drive away :O *I thought that sounded a bit cheap to me,so i asked him was he sure about the price,he said yeah mate thats it,we'll look after ya :p ,so i left it at that!!

Then i got the missus to ring up about 10mins later & talk to the same guy and get a quote on the exact same mag/tire combination for my car aswell,well guess what happened ???

Does he think women are fools and can rip them off,or is he genuine and gave me a f**ked up quote??

[color=#8D38C9:post_uid0]are you sure you and your missus gotn the same person? at any given time, there are about 3 to 4 people behind the counter at tempe tyres. if you get the boss, then the quote is pretty much final, but if you get others, they may not have much authority to give lower prices.
that all im saying.
there was a story from a current afairs about females taking their cars to the mechanics and got ripped off. i know its sad, but lets face it, its a sexist world. the only up side is that it goes both ways (we cant get into female's only gym to perve...) *:D

i think you should get another guy to call up again or do it yourself and if they tell you the $2400 price then tell em that you were quoted $1800 .. see what they say ...

Damn, that is a great deal on those rims..I was hoping for 17's with springs for 2100-2200... I guess if we can mention Eric and those 20" monsters (you sure you couldn't get any bigger Eric?!??!!), it would be an ok start.

It is not just girls who get taken on a ride... because I don't look 'mean' and am usually very polite, they try and quote me higher. E.G exhaust work on my rolla sx...but if you ring around and get some quotes, they have no option but to match or beat the quote to keep your business.

[color=#000000:post_uid4]Yeah guys i rang up another place is sydney this morning,they quoted me $2600 for the same rims :O They also told me that Tempe Tyres have a habbit of giving cheaper quotes over the phone just to get you into the place :angry: then slug ya withy the rest :(
Personally i thought the $1800 quote was a bit cheap for 18x7.5inch mags,but when i questioned him,he kept saying that it was right,drive in drive away!!
I could be going down there on the weekend to check them out in person i think :)

i had my eyes set on this for the 20", but they didnt look as good as my current ones. they dont really suit the curvy bodies like the astinas and the tts. (yes, i have put both against the tt!)

Got quoted $1500 for ROH Shadow Chrome Adrenalines with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres. Faxed my deposit details and called later to confirm the order. I left a deposit etc about 1 month before I drove from Melbourne to Sydney to visit Adam / have the wheels fitted. Call TT when I get to Sydney, and they didn't have the rims, even though "they were in stock when I left the deposit".
Despite the size of the place and the number of people that work there, I consider that to be a major ****up, especially since there was 1 month between when I called first, and when I had them installed. However, in TT's defence, the guy that runs the place really looked after me when I showed up, and was more then happy to get my car up, show me all types of rims, and gave me a damn good price for my 16's. I guess they kind of redeemed themselves.[/color:post_uid0]
