Hello all,

Would lowering the car affect the power steering system at all? I just had the whiteline springs installed into a '94 Mazda Astina BA but did not get an alignment done. I noticed that when I turn the wheels at any time, the noise of the p/steering system is much louder that normal. Maybe an alignment would cure it. I'm getting shocks installed at Whiteline on monday because the mechanic that did the springs is not confident enough to install the Koni shocks ( cut-a-strut type).

TIA
Nick

No lowering it should not change the steering. (alignment should be done after its been lowered)

Put some oil in it man, I would say dextron 3 for that but double check ur handbook and check for oil leaks if u do need to top it up. plus check ur tyre pressures as well

Thanks ezin, will check it. I noticed that when the wheel alignment was done , the pressure at the front was much higher that the one at the back (36psi vs 33 psi). That might account for the very bumpy ride on the way home at the M5. :D
