boys and girls,
found out last friday night that i had virus attack on my laptop. got my arse out of the bed early on sat morning to get norton antivirus 2002.
it took around 3 hours to "recover" the system. after that, all the major OS components are still "infected" and "is unreciverable". so got the ****s, formatted the whole f&*ken hard drive, mind you, i have lost EVERYTHING, inc. my web pages and pics (both old and new ones). i know i can upload my new ones from digitalart productions, so im not overly worried about that.
anyway, reinstalled windows 98 second edition quite easily, and now i have problems.
the OS can not detect the display adaptor, modem and the removable disk drive.

anyone know what i can do? or can anyone help?
it is a IBM Think Pad i Series (PIII). dont ask me where i got it from, and i have no info about the hardwares inside the laptop.
not happy jan......  [/color:post_uid13]

G'Day,
I work in a computer repair shop (mostly printers though), but we've had lots of computers with your problem. I can't stress enough how important it is to have an antivirus program (ANY program) installed. Also you MUST update the definitions AT LEAST once every two weeks. Norton is ONE of the best at the moment. VET and McAcfee are also highly recommended.
As for your particular problem, have you checked IBM's web site? Could you look underneath the laptop and give me the actual model number (and serial number), and I'll see what I can find out for you. In the meantime give this site a try, you do have to register, but it is free:
