Has anyone tried the Kumho Ecsta KU15 MX tyres?

see : http://www.kumho.com.au/showtyre.pip?id=30

they come in 205/45/16 for us

(but i was thinking of them for my next project - rx7 - 255/40/17 at the front, 295/30/18 at the rear)

but anyway, they look to be quite a good dry weather tyre from what i've read on the internet, but a bit ho-hum in the wet

yeah i was more thinking of rx7 tyres as the only other tyres available in 295/30/18 are michelins or pirelli and they cost $1000+ ea.

will see if i can get my hands on the motor mag test - thanks ap for the tip

I have 711's and agree with Sabrelli, excellent tyre in the dry but slips in the wet.

Mine are 205/40/17's and still have another 5000kms to go before i change. Looking at Bridgestones.

Sabrelli, I got the wheels and tyres from a local mazda dealer selling a second hand SP20 from Victoria. Paid him $200 and swapped my stock rims as he was having a hard time selling the black SP20 with chromes in his yard. I did him a favour and I got a nice set of wheels.
I've done around 8000kms so far and as said before have about 5000kms to go before i need to replace, so am guessing that they would be close to a 30,000km tyre depending on how hard they are driven on.
I keep losing pressure of the front tyres which is real annoying. I pump them up to 35psi and come the following weekend they are down to 28-30psi. So am happy to do this until i change tyres over as I reckon there is a valve problem with them.
Also.... when I traded, my originals wheels had Federal 195/50 16's with 60% tread gone, so didnt lose out too much in the exchange.
Still have the original spare wheel with Yoko on it in the boot.
