tell me about it!!!

cost $900+ from mazda for whole assembly - they won't supply a single

cost from a US wrecker roughly US$30 for the single gauge facing
or about US$300 max for whole unit (incl postage)

been down that road, and it sux arse....

so heres some tips for ya... when the empty light comes on, fill up, you will have app 120 from the light coming on, to you starting to get a sputter

second is to know your mileage, and fuel consuption - for a 1.6 i know that i get 600-700km from one tank, but thats my driving.... just don't stress about it all

oh yeah tha temp gauge was **** to start with, so don't worry too much what the needle says, worry when the steam comes out, coz that is usually the first sign of overheating you get!!!

Damn, it seems some fuel consumption is lost between that 50.3kW atw vs 66kW atw!

EDIT: corrected a typo there sorry...

:? why can`t you put the needles back on then?
how are they fitted?
i was gonna get some el gauges for my bg but i can`t figure out how you get the fuel and temp face on with out removing the needles, or at least one of them!
even though it sez you don`t have to remove the needles!!! :?

coz they attach with hot heat onto the actual motor stalk...

the BG i beleive actually attaches and is able to be detached... please don't quote me on that!!!

i cannot be held responsible for you bugger up your gauges!!!

oh and i cut a slit into my EL gauge face, so instead of farting around going over and breaking needles (again - yes scott your not alone) it just goes around the base with the slits!

Ah well, live and learn. :D Its all good

Yeah, i can cope without the temp and fuel for now. The guages still look aight. The tacho and speedo are working fine.

Looks like i have a little bit more net shopping to go to get some spare parts.

hehe..i learnt a big lesson, do not mess around with gauges. I had to change my whole fuel/temp assembly, got one from the wreckers for $55. I fixed the speedometre and tachometre needle, but the fuel&temp ones were hard nuts to crack....couldnt figure out how to fix it, so just bought another one and installed it. My empty tank was on half way on teh gauge..pretty weird.

The needles of a bg just pull out, but its very hard to get it back on the right position.
