Has anyone here ever dealt with installing a cruise control unit into a car (specifically a BA hatch)
I have an AP60 cruise control unit that needs installing. It has pretty good instructions, but I am wondering if it is worth paying a pro to install or if it is easy enough that I could get my mate (apprentice mechanic) to do the job for me.

Everything I have found on google etc suggests that people have generally installed the same unit by themselves. My guess is they are a little more car savy than me.

They are usually fairly easy. But that's just how I feel. It really depends on how well you or your mate feel about installing it. If you're not confident then I'd suggest finding someone that can do the job, but will let you watch and if possible help with the install. That way hopefully you'll learn something new and you can do it yourself at a later date....

I have decided to get it dont properly.

The place I am getting it done has just opened so their installer hasnt been shown how to do cruise control kits. That means they have to get the pro out to do the install and show the guy at the same time.
That means pro++ install.
