G'day Jye..
You're best bet would be to check out the Mazda3Forums (http://www.mazda3forums.com/) as i'm sure someone has done it.. I know that it's been done in a Mazda6, but i didn't find the results overly pleasing at all..
Cheers

I've been told it's not at all easy to do, and unless you are either REALLY good at working your interior, or have lots of money to spend on someone else doing it, your best bet is amp, sub and speaker replacement. Unless you have the SP23 with the BOSE speakers, they actually sound very, very nice (Do any other 3's have these speakers?).

Well blow me down and call me Russle...
Everybody I'd asked had said "Nope, can't be done". Glad I've been proved wrong, cause that was the one thing that was concering me with 3... Thanks Nate!
no probs mate ... says its only for the 2.0L tho ... so i dunno ... maybe the sp23 has a different dash or more intergrated controls ... i dunno

Yep, the 23 dash is slightly different to the other models. It has different controls etc and I think the other models only come with a single CD player, not a 6 CD in-dash stacker??? Not sure on that, only really ever checked out the specs on the 23 ;)
as you do ... well if we dicussed this two days ago i could have gone and sussed it at the motor show :P ... anyway im sure there will be something on the market somewhere :P
