Hi All,

I've queried the price to import the Accolade Rallisport Bodykit www.body-kit.com

US$1200.
The kit (front, rear bar and side skirts) needs to be sanded and primed/painted and fitted. I have a local quote of $1000 from a reputable body specialist, though am still looking around for a cheaper quote.
The Accolade body kits have been seen around on Lancers in Australia so the company is good and from reading threads on MSProtege forum the kit is very well detailed and fitted to our cars with only minor sanding back.

Has anyone looked into bringing this kit in ? has anyone other recommendations on kits for a similair price ? or will i be the first to go ahead and do this ?

For those of you who have seen the kit, any ideas on what to use besides an intercooler to fill up the black hole on the front bar ? I was thinking mesh and spraying black.

p.s. I queried getting in two kits to Adelaide to cut costs on shipping and was quoted US$2000 (US$1000 each) for saving of US$200. OFLA are you interested ?

UGH!

The US$2000 shipping mentioned in my email was for buying 2 kits and sending to Adelaide, not the sole cost for shipping.

The costs of US$2000 includes shipping and insurance if I buy 2 kits or a total of $1200 including shipping and insurance if I only buy 1 kit.

Hope this makes sense now.

Thanks for the offer mate but at the moment i dont think theres any way i could afford that. I just got a speeding fine which sucks and uni is about to go back so i wont be working as much. But.. i may be interested in a set of those eyelids if ur going to get your products sent over i could maybe get them in the same box?

Hi,

Did you go ahead and import this kit into Australia as I was thinking about it myself?
If so, who did you get to install the kit in Adelaide for you?

Thanks...

Importing kits for Accolade can be a PITA, I imported one for a mazda 3, 4 years ago. It took them over a months to get it shipped out and then another 4 months for it to arrive and another few weeks with customs. Then only to find out that a couple parts were missing (for light holders). They were good with the missing parts as they were couriered to me at no extra cost.
It cost around $3500 (damn taxes) landed in melb and around $650 to get it painted and fitted (family friend was a panel beater).

The kits are nice and didnt take too much effort to get it fitted, small amount of trimming was required. The plastic felt a bit flimsy in some sections, ie the bottom part of the huge opening of the lower grill, has to get some additional bracing to it would keep its shape without too much flex.

I reckon there should be fibreglass houses out there that could do it for a similar price or less minus the hassle from importing.

i know a good place in salisbury that does custom panel work, they are really good. the guy hooked me up and helped me out massively for a great price.

this thread is old as though, i dont even think those members are on here anymore! lol
