Whats the story if I want to add this to my car, iv been to 1 place already and he said Mazda dont carry a Towbar in stock for my car. That cant be right....so im going to try genuine mazda parts in the next couple of weeks and see what they can do, in the mean time....
Has anyone got a towbar etc fitted to their SP20, any info/picts/prices would be great. Also, did they have to cut the bodykit to fit it on and can you get quick release bars so its not on the car 24/7 if ya know what I mean.
Cheers

my car was fitted with a hayman reese towbar, but it was removed by the dealer for some reason, and they also left the holes in the bumper for where the electrical connector sat... silly me forgot to ask for the bar!!!
anywho, the hayman reese bar should fit all BJ/KN/KQ models
red frogs towbar sits very close to the standard bumper - so i'd think cutting would be in order to fit it...
i know the mazda6/tribute tow bar has a small square adaptor, that has a stylish mazda cap for removing the tow ball quickly

if you have a look at the pic there, you can see where the stuff pulls apart

twigwa, you don't happen to know where that hooked up do you?
mine runs across the back, and joins up left and right at the chassis rails...

i have no idea jimbob.
Any caravan place should be able to fit your car with a Hayman-Reese towbar that'll do the job nicely. There are even guys that are mobile and come out to your house or place of business to fit it for you!

Yeah, went to the local 4WD center, they can do a Hayman-Reese fitted for $380, no cutting of the kit is required even though it sits pretty close. Towing capacities are small, maximum tow - 700kg, with a maximum ball weight of only 60kg.

Now back to our regular scheduled programming........

That's actually pretty standard.
I think its illegal to have a trailer more than 700kg that isn't braked. And ball weight of 60kg is pretty normal.
Catch you towin' somthin soon!
