[color=#000000:post_uid0]Easy first thing you need is a phillips screw driver,
step 1 : Remove the rear ash tray and then you should see a screw, remove it
step 2 : On the sides of the center column where the gear shifter is there are 2 more screws (1 on either side).
step 3 : Now remove both pieces, the center column where the gear shifter is and the back one where the ash tray is.
step 4 : Now on the center piece of the dash near the head unit is look up and you should find 2 more screws near the hot and cold air switch.
step 5 : Remove the front ash tray and there are 2 more screws, remove these to screws and the front piece of the dash should clip out.
step 6 : You should now be able to remove the deck but there may be some screws holding the cradle, so be sure not to pull to hard.[/color:post_uid0]

That reply was sweet as....stuff like that should be on a tech page.
I am needing to completely remove my dash and all for the SP ('93). Any chance of a step by step instruction for that ? :D
Gotta do a few things...speakers, alarm etc. Thanks.

Basic rules of mazda dash,
1) There will be two bolts at both the right and left ends of the dash, just need to remove a clip-on cover.
2) You should find another bolt in the center top of the dash.
3) The steering column bolts through the dash with two bolts.
4) There will be some more bolts securing the dash to the trany tunnel (sorry, I know you have a front wheel drive).
It's just a case of removing enough facia to reveal the bolts.
Good luck
Rod
P.S. My Cosmo also has bolts in the glovebox that need to be removed.
