Hey Guys,

Last night, jumped into the car after a good 13hrs at work, didn't realise the car was in gear...turned the key, car takes off (doesn't jump...just goes like normal)... takes out 3 1metre metal posts before i can stop it completely..not good... but i didn't manage to stop it before it hit a nice concrete barrier 30cms away...

Damage so far.... indentations of the 3 metal pegs in my front bar.... and a knocking sound coming from the bottom left of the car (??? )

So... need to find a decent bodykit repairer / smash repair in the eastern suburbs who can clean up the front bar and give parts of it a respray....

I am still fukn livid about this... not sure how I could do this to a 7mth new car!!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks guys,

Bill[/color:post_uid0]

Dayam! thats not good :O :(

well, you could try the MX5 Shop in Ringwood. i'm told they do a very good job (and know mazdas inside-out), but aren't the cheapest around.

i've never had a car resprayed, so can't really help with recommending places from personal experience :([/color:post_uid0]

If you wanna get it done under insurance then Accident Repair Centre at Thornleigh is good. Otherwise cant help! Bad luck tho! Thats another Astina down.... how many is that recently?[/color:post_uid0]

Hey Bill;
Are you going to go thru insurance to get the car repaired or are you going to get it repaired yourself?

If you're going to pay for it yourself, I can give you the number of the guy who repaired the damage to my astina for a really good price. He's up in the Kilsyth/Lilydale area. If you are interested just PM me!

btw is it only the front bar that's damaged or is the bonnet too? I know how it feels having your pride and joy damaged... but it'll look just like new once fixed.

Daniel :)[/color:post_uid1]

Cant believe what is happening to us. The other night i ran my Toy up a gutter :O it was only at a very slow speed, but still up it went,i was to afraid to get outta the car and have a look, fearing the worst for the mag wheel, and the front bar :(
What made it worse was that a person was standing on the side walk with his bottom lip touching the pavement pointing at the car when it happened, which made me think it was really f**ked up! I eventually got outta the car,and to my surprise i only found a few scratches on the side of the bar,no wheel damage :)
I still dont know how i mounted this gutter without ripping off my front bar,i had angels shining on me that night :D

Catch yas :;):[/color:post_uid11]

thanks guys...

send any names/numbers of melb smash repairs to me... i have taken some pics of the damage, and really... there is **** all damage... scared about the cost of fixing it though!!
so daniel (app) send the number if you recommend them... i am seeing two places tonight... one of the mccr members (highly recommended) and Symes smash in east doncaster (recommended by mazda)... so yeah... i think depending on the extent of the damage (and cost), i'll stick with 3 quotes...

Primo...that's exactly what i did... but didn't have no hay bails... just metal posts!

cheers,
Bill[/color:post_uid0]

Primo, what type of the alarm did you get? I want to get one for my SP20 too and I really want remote start. I also wouldnt mind a module that notifies you if your alarm goes off. Have you heard of that?
