Questions for a Guru,

I was doing some research for the BA web site I am building and came across reference to Type X, Type G, Type R and Type S BA Astinas. It would appear that it is not as straight forward as hardtop vs Coupe, as the Japanese club sites refer to both the Hardtop and Coupe as several of these types. Does any one have a definitive answer as to what the different types actually mean.

Cheers

i imagine it would be trim/equipment levels (CD/airbag/abs or lack of), but don't quote me on that.

check out the lantische site - it'd probably be able to tell you if it can translate

That doesnt count :P But having said that, there is also a protege coupe that looks a hell of a lot better than the 323C (which has a different front to the Lynx)

i'm looking into the specs. i'll let you know how i go

323C coupe (I believe the C is for compact and F is for family) is one spunkie little machine. I'd like one of those with a KL-ZE :D and would be the only reason I'd contemplate the I4 to V6 swap.

Anyone got a link for this "lantische" site, sounds German. Because I can read Norwegian, Danish and some Swedish, one time I was able to read some German about computer stuff, it was a VERY big stretch, but it did help knowing the subject matter quite well...
I could have a go at translating it if you like?
Gav.

The Type R has the KF-ZE v6 (119kw) vs the standard KF-DE (104kw)
Also the UK, European market had another v6 variant to the KF with 112kw

on a slightly related note to the 323C we investigated front end conversions a few years ago however we comcluded that the front of the lynx on the back of the liata would most probarbly work and look good to boot!

cheers mike

the KF that came in the jspec astinas actully have 170ps which equils around 125kw, the KF that came in the eunos 500 has 160ps which is around 118kw, the only diff between the engines is the air flow meter and the tuning

Both Jap Spec yeah?

Aus spec KF's are as I recall,

104 in Astina
106 in 500

so other way around in Japan (Astina over 500), werid.

All Mazda’s are imports but have differences depending on the intended market.
If intended for the Japanese Domestic Market they are described as JDM or Jap-spec.
If they are intended for Australia (with lower octane fuel, longer life expectancy and longer distance between everything) they are Aust-spec
