Hi fellow astina lovers i have just bought myself a 1994 astina hatch BA 1.8 manual.
I now want to have a turbo 1994 astina hatch BA.
I would like to know what motor to buy for the conversion as i dont want to turbo my exsisting motor i heard the bpt motor was the way to go.
is there any perticular year that is best? has anyone done this conversion?
Can anyone help me?
Thank you to all that reply :)

Heaps have done the conversion. You need a GTX BPT, a high performance clutch
for you standard gearbox and then a turbo ECU, Intercooler, Intercooler pipes, BOV
and a larger exhaust. If you have specific questions about the conversion just ask but
Jynx did do a big long conversion guide as he did his which is why people are saying
do a search.

Goodluck with the project, there are a few people on here that have done the bpt conversion to their BA 323's. You have Jynx, Big Mal, Sik Astina,Ruperwrencht and that other guy from Canberra who was in hot Hot4's a little while back, so there is plenty of people in the Know on here ask all the questions you can as cances are that all your answers are on this forum.

That 'other guy' from canberra is tony (xedos) and he hasnt had the car as long as i have been on here. "DOGO" now owns it ... what a beast it is too

engine mounts are identical, as the engine is externally the same.

and yes, the gearbox will mount up with no problems

you're lucky with a 1994 as you get the G series gearbox which is stronger than in later BAs

What other Questions do you have Exodus323 ???
If you haven't noticed both Rupe and me have Turbo's and can answer
all your questions. Jynx is pretty busy with Uni and work so dont think
he will have time to answer your questions.

Maybe an admin can bring back jimbo's conversion string, the pics wont
work as his website is gone but all the writing obviously still applies.
