Hey Guys from the neighbour fordlaser.com site...
I thought to post a question regarding Astina SPs.
I always liked the shape of the SP Astinas specially when they come in dark green.
What I’m interested to know if anyone actually converted those into 4WD... using the KH/KF TX3 as a donor car?
How similar is the chassis of the SP and the KH/KF TX3s?[/color:post_uid0]

I believe Mazda make a 4wd version of the current 323/astina in Japan. At least, it was in gran turismo 2 as the "sport 20" (aka sp20??)[/color:post_uid0]

Fosgate, obviously you havent got the answers yet, and i cant help too much other than what u would already know.
The KH/KF was a shared platform with the BG Astina. I cant say what was different etc, but the SP and the 1.8 fwd TX3 were very similar underneath. If i have some time tonite ill look into it a bit more for ya. Sorry I know nothing else! But yea, welcome anyway!

Thanks guys for the warm welcome...
Hey ToyBoy... thought i would find you here :)
Well I was thinking it would be nice to have a SP Astina with 4WD... Im not a big fan of Kf/KH shape of lasers so im basically looking for alternatives. And Astina SP looks like the best choice to me.
Osprey06 hey mate...
I know there is a new 4WD 323/astina on the market in Japan but a believe that the Kf/KH lasers would be closer chassis to SP Astina then the new 323s.
bRaDiNhO thanks that info would really help.[/color:post_uid0]

Hey Fosgate, How you doing.
You may or may not no , but i have a 92 sp astina which i have turbo charged, thought about doing a 4wd conversion also, but with the price of the 4wd gearbox + diff + the driveshafts etc worked out being 2 much and to much labour involved. if you hear or see any one which has done this conversion , inform us[/color:post_uid0]

Fosgate, Which SP are we talking about? The current shape or the BG? ???
I believe that the Mazda 323 GTR/GTX was a 2 door short wheelbase BG (revised nose as well). A conversion like this would put your perfomance in the WRX category :O[/color:post_uid0]

Theo,
Wasn't that guy in Newcastle going to try the 4wd
conversion. Has he got anywhere with it cause I am
of the same opinion as everyone else. Have heard the
floorpan is the same but have never heard once of actually
anybody doing it.
