the stock computer should cut fuel at approx 14psi ( or 1bar ). It may vary slightly depending on your intake setup.

Yes it is worth getting an aftermarket boost controller. You will find that even with a small boost increase your car will seem to be much faster because the boost will come on much quicker due to a slight bleed off.

If you do install an aftermarket boost controller for the sake of your engine don't install an overide switch. If you do then label the button SELF DESTRUCT

what is an overide switch? i was thinking of getting a turbo smart dual stage...

An override switch lets the turbo over boost, it's intended for short bursts of extra power.

Most people I've known to have them tell you it's only for emergencies or extreme cases but end-up using them for green lights.

I think its also known as 'Scramble Mode' on some controllers. It closes up the solenoid, blockiing off the actuator and forcing the wastegate closed

in simple terms, i forces the turbo to boost as much as physically possible

U mean its a bit like NOS? In the fact that its a s**t load more power over a very small space of time and will do wonders for ripping your engine apart?

Not all the time. On my Apexi AVCR I have a Scramble button. You set the extra duty you want it to be.......So you can set it to jump to 20psi from 17psi for 5 seconds (you can set the time too). Give you an extra boost :) I don't use mine

EBCs have a +ve side. They will reach max boost quicker as the wastegate only begins to open close to the boost setting, vacuum only will start opening the wastegate earlier than an EBC.
