hehe, you trying to get old threads better than mine eh?

this is a pic of an SP20 with a SRI unifilter pod....

the piping can be extended by unifilter, for not oo much more.....

cost is $300 off my head, but i havn't looked at it for a long time

what filter do you have on the injen?

well james i'm learning from you best ;) hehehehe

the injen cai comes with an injen filter - used k&n elements - and i just use the k&n filter service kit to clean it every 10000 k's (will do a clean this weekend for the drive down next weekend)

nah - the filter needs to be bone dry before you re-oil it - that takes time

I saw one of those articles like I displayed in the other filter string of the performance
of unifilter and it was very poor. I would recomend a K&N over a unifilter anyday and
for $300 you could get a filter and quite a bit of stainless piping.

mal, the $300 was including the piping, and the correct MAF adapter

you can also buy with out the filter... whatever you choose the K&N pod can be fitted to this....

the also make one for the 1.6L BJ, but it costs $450 crappy car, with piece of **** MAF......

hey james have you checked to see if any other mazda maf fits? ie rx7, 626, bravo's etc?

they don't plug up, or match the voltage... the only one that matches are the ones in the mazda 6, and the tribute..... guess why... they are identical!!!

same maf as found in the WRX.... hmm makes my car look good suddenly

well that then sucks doesnt it! can you figure out a way to keep the element thingie in it and just make the pipe area bigger? would that even work???

Thats what the holden guys to for their LS1's either have their maf enlarged
or get a replacement larger MAF unit. Anything larger than your throttle body
thou is pointless as you are restricted by the smallest opening.

james you should try that then

For about $400 I had a custom stainless intake fitted using the original MAF with a Simota pod (with heatshield) an a custom air duct drawing air from a 3 inch hole in my front bar which now has an inverted, lipped muffler tip leading the precession and it works a treat. Only other mod is a heavy duty pressure plate and the package managed a 15.8 @145 kph at drag combat 02. and this is with insane wheel spin and shuddering of traction off the lie through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd which is evident on the video (although only pulled 16.1 during the finals)

I can't complain about my unifilter pod. Been on for 25K now. Sure cleaning is a pain in the arse but... I think that as with all CAI/Pod filters there isn't really that much change in power. Response was improved and the noise is a nice thing. It uses the stock MAF and ducting upstream of the MAF. The bracketry that comes with the pod with a bit of invention is pretty rigid. And it was only $175 to boot.
