Hey Dwayne, you knocked that back out pretty good, maybe you could get some help with touching up the bonnet and bumper after you replace the guard and you're home and hosed.

Yeah, i'm glad that it came out as good as it did, it'll do until i find someone to help fix the bonnet.

How i did that damage there was a few factors involed,
1. Speed
2. Brakes
3. Tyres
4. Road Condition
We (Nate and I) were looking for the other half of the that we lost at the turnoff, so we decided on going back to look for them and we were going at pretty high speeds at least 60km+ around a few corners before the incident my car was already to slide around corners (mostly the arse end), but after that started to happen i started to take the corners with alittle bit more causion, but when i i felt my brakes starting to not work it was too late and i used my gears to slow me down as much as possible until they locked, when that happened i took my foot off the brakes but the wheels were still locked, so i tried my best to move the car were i would get the least amount of damage, so the car ended up running into the side rail. even when i got the wheels going again the car kept on sliding to the rails. But i'm just glad that i didn't hit any of the airbrushing or did any structual damage.

OH and my mag didn't even get a single scratch too, which i was so glad.

It sounds very odd that your brakes locked like that, even for giving them a hard work out.

How can front wheels lock with no brakes applied? I have never experienced this before! And if the fronts locked, the car would've stalled yes? And why didn't you put the power down when the whells started to slip?

Can you knock this one up to inexperience? I'm not sure whether brake upgrades will help. Tyres will, those ones you have on there now have way too much grooves and small tread. Go for something with less movement.

Don't worry about that could've, would've, should've stuff, what's happened has happened and that's it. But if you wonder why a car still skids/slides with no brakes, the answer is probably TOO MUCH LOCK! He's lucky it didn't grip, because when you have too much lock like that when it does grip it usually throws the arse out violently without notice... Maybe if he had a little less lock it would've? Anyhow, the damage is minimal and makes for a life lesson in night time driving.

Yeah, fark I have! As you know I found out the hard way I have a better driving instinct for FWD over RWD in a hairy situation. No more RWD cars for Gav...

RWD are fun, I sometimes with I had one. I miss drifting. But you are correct. FWD cars are easier to drive but require more work when control is lost.

FWD cars are easier to drive but require more work when control is lost.I dunno about that, I'm no expert, but I've never had a spill in a FWD yet, and believe me I've pushed the limits enough times to have a few, but I've always managed to get them back inline when I've gone close to farking up. I've probably been naughty so often over the years that I've got a good grasp of where the limits of my cars are so I don't completely cross them or back out early enough not to...

where ppl get lost in fwd is by jumping on the brakes. either 1 you'll lock em up or two you'll have the arse ahead of you in no time (ala toyota MR2). gotta power out of things with a fwd. takes many years to be confident with unless you get out to a track.

where i went wrong on the nite i pushed the limits of my car too far, and i also forgot to rotate my tyres also but i don't think that would have helped much any way.

But it's all good to hear that you are alright. any crash that you walk away from builds you into a stronger/faster/smarter racer.

Youve done a good job of patching it up but i thought i'd let you know i found this, its off a hatch but im pretty sure it would fit.

I've found someone that will fix my bonnet for $300 without touching the airbrusing, and i've sourced a front panel for just under $200 i'm just praying that its in Noble Green.

Tublade

i have been tossing up the idea seeing as the panels are only bolted on, if i can get my hands on a few of the guards, i'll give it ago.
