you would need it for a minimum of 6 hours and then the commy is going ot use at least 2/3s of a tank ... and we dont all have mates with car trailers sitting in there shed do we ;)

twilightprotege

BOM also said fine Thursday to Sunday earlier in the week. There was some sunshine this afternoon, this is leaving me very short of excuses... I'll be putting my drag tyres on at home and will only need to fark around with the pressures. I'm going to the motorbike mecha (Slacks Creek) tomorrow morning to get an open face helmet...

Gav.

like the one from Kingston Park i take it?Yeah, but I dunno if I'll need that big (or gay looking), and it may not have a beek or sliding visor. Although I would like a sliding visor for future karting...

twilightprotege
03-07-2005, 07:03 PM
hope everyone enjoyed the night. 3 new pb's :D

15.243 for me (and did it twice)
14.5 something for tim (congrats man - see below)
16.6 something for big gav (hey it's your first time, dont feel down)

but tim you're car obviously likes the cool. i said to adam when we were driving to the race we were side by side on the freeway when we went for it, but on the way home you got ahead of me. get that damn intercooler of yours in the car! (or get a slightly smaller one if it's overkill. but with that alone you could probably get under 14! :D

chicaboo
03-07-2005, 07:17 PM
Did Tim manage a 14.5 on his last run? Damn, that's good, I was impressed with his 14.8! I may have raced Tim on the private road on the way home too... I love the spooling sound his car makes when it comes onto boost!
I got a 16.653 @ 81.92mph in full street trim (no weight reduction). It was generally one bad launch after the other for me. I borked my best launch by paying too much attention to the opoosition and bounced the rev limiter badly, but it felt like a 16.2 run if I had managed to pull it together.
Talking about it for so long is one thing, doing it was another. I just went there thinking it'd be as easy as it is on the "private road"...
I don't feel down about my 16.6, I just feel bad because I stuffed up my one and only chance at getting closer to a 16 flat. But I beat a commy again, so I'm not totally dejected. And when I found out that the old 323 had a rotor I didn't feel so bad about that either...

twilightprotege
03-07-2005, 07:46 PM
yeah he did his last run when you went to the mobil. he had a smile from ear to ear.

next time gav we'll try a bit of weight reduction for joo and with that practice you'll get to low 16's (as i said on omc when you read it).

oh yeah, driving on the strip is a total new kettle of fish compared to driving on the street.

chicaboo
03-07-2005, 07:56 PM
As is with weight reduction and ****ty launches I'd want low 16s, with weight reduction and the elusive perfect launch I still want a 15.9!

twilightprotege
03-07-2005, 08:57 PM
well you know what to do next time. strip the car! ;) however, make sure you stay within sport compact rules. that way if you ever compete you know what you'll do and you'll be legal. see : http://www.andra.com.au/technical/SCREGS0405W.htm (sport fwd is the class we'd run in)

if you're wondering about the sport compact series, see : http://www.andra.com.au/latestnews/ANDRA%20SPORT%20COMPACT%20CHAMPIONSHIP%20SERIES%20-%20lite%20version.htm

i'll see how i go at jamboree then i'll consider going to the other places. thank frig they are only willowbank and wsid
