If I go it'll be after work, so I'll probably be there at 6-9pm...
That won't help you cos you'll probably be at work by then Tim. I'll come a visit ya if I remember where your work is.

Plus if I have install my new spitfire injector/ingition thingy, I wanna test it down the highways - they claim 5% power gain! We'll see huh?

My first Autosalon was good. Me, Tublade, Fro-Daddy (Baggins) and his partner and a Fordlaser member all went. I'm glad to say it's different enough from regular carshows where you just see stock vehicles. Although there were some near stock cars there too, usually just a body kit or paint and alloys to set them apart from the everyday car.
There were a few cars that were over the top and couldn't possibly even be driven a short distance, these ones look like they had to be pushed from the trailer to the display. My favourite cars were a burgundy S2000, and 2 black Ford Fseries utes. Although there were easily another 5 or 6 cars I really liked there too.
I managed to catch some of my future competition at the dyno, a Proton Satria GTi that looked particulary nice but only putting out 83kW atw (75 stock)... Although I didn't see what that pimped burgundy Pulsar was putting down (another nice car incidently!). Some people actually ran some lighter wheels just for the dyno, and Australia's fastest (11.1s) street lefal FWD managed to put down 250kW+ atw before I left the cage.
I think it's worthwhile going myself, and I might even go to the Brisbane show even if I'm not competing on the dyno at the time it's on, althought it'll probably be much the same. So I would encourage people who are vaguely intersted to make the trip down tomorrow and go.

i have like 90 something photos from the day, i will try to get the hosted somewhere, the quality of the cars was fairly good but still some cars shouldnt of been in there(as gav said), still no where near the amount and quality of sydney/melborne shows.

chicaboo

I didn't see any BJIIs there. I saw a grey 3 (had bought a big wing for it while he was there!), blue SP23, 3 or 4 MX5s, 1 or 2 RX7s, and that was probably about it?

2brag

and that wide body 626 over next to the GCCS Erachnid stand, with all the screens in it

chicaboo
07-07-2005, 11:15 AM
Oh yeah, that thing, it took someone to point out to me that it was even a 626. There was a bit between and above the taillights where it hadn't been modded where I could see the 626 part. Was a totally full on job that one.

sounds to me like 2brag is trying to promote his own car!!! although the white rims do look great against the blue paint...
i remember the days when it was maroon and you crashed it within week of buying it and ya dad went ape **** over it... that brings back memories
