View Full Version : Injen air intake
Hi guys,
I had a injen air intake system installed on my 2002 SP20 today at GCG Turbochargers (Condell Park). They were pretty good, but the intake is GREAT. I highly reccomend it. But i do offer this bit of advice, Install it yourself. I payed about $150 for installation and it took an hour and it was as easy as checking your oil. It instruction book is verygood.

Hey guys... Sorry but i'm not quite up on all this car mods n stuff... YET. =)
Just wanted to findout was an Injen air intake is.
I'm guessing that Injen is the brand. Is the air intake a bolt on mod or is it something you add to your turbo charger?
I'd like to find out all the different things i can add to my engine [2 litre V6] to increase performance, with out having to put a turbo charger in.
Thanx.

The Injen is a CAI (cold air intake).
Would be interested in the $ for it locally and where it was sourced (GCG?) TDK and how much induction noise does it make? Do you have to re-orient the washer bottle?
They look cool and should give you a bit more snap in the GO department :)[/color:post_uid0]

hey TDK. have you had your sp20 on the dyno after installing the injen CAI? how much did you pay for the CAI and who supplied it? Thanks.
TDK, i'm with Critter... how much did the INGEN cost? i have read about this in the US p5 forums and everybody only has great things to say bout the injen cai.
As I am still not quite decided on what my next mod will be, I'm waiting for you guys to keep going with your mods and listen to your thoughts.

just browse that site but error in "contact us", how much is that kit??
I own an Sp20 and found that you can keep the standard air intake and box!
Where the cold air intake starts at the front grille, Modifiy this section! Remove the grille and cut out the left hand top bit of the grille! Use a soldering iron with a cutting blade + a file to make it neat! Now u should be able to look through and see the front a/c condensor! Get some thin plastic flexible sheet (Bunnings) + some black selastic and cut out bits to form a scoop that takes up half the grille! Then using black selastic and masking tape to hold the bits in place! stick the bits in place to make the scoop! This will take a couple of hours to make it look neat! Now remove the horn and turn it around! Now put the grille back in place and thats it! I found a huge difference after 70kmh cause the air is being rammed in! + u dont get that WWWOOOAAAPPP! sound! Cause the resonator box is still connected! I did all this for free and highly recomend doing so before forking out for a pod that sucks in hot air!
